Huge thanks to @mother-agony.bsky.social and @aurru.bsky.social for the sprites and background seen here. Seriously, my project wouldn't be anywhere near where it is without their tremendous help. Support real artists, people.

Taking a break from coding new stages to work on walls/bases. Still lots to do, but it's getting there! #gamedev #devlog #indiedev

Funny how a single stage can take longer to code than 4 combined because you try to make a fun new mechanic that ends up breaking everything. WOOPSY. #gamedev #devlog #indiedev

It's been a busy month, but Chapter 2 is well underway! I've got all 15 stages planned out and 4 already ready for testing. The artists have been hard at work too. I'm constantly amazed by how well everything is gradually taking shape. Still on the lookout for a UI artist though!

Took a while but everything is finally set up to start making Chapter 2's stages! This is my favorite part; Brainstorming ideas for challenges, weird win conditions, gimmicky decks, etc. Already have tons of notes to go through.

I'm also going to fix up the layout so it feels more intuitive, while i'm at it.

This week i'm back on skill trees. Progression doesn't feel quite right yet, and is especially slow at the beginning. So i'm adding an extra tier that unlocks at level 1 to make things immediately exciting. #indiedev #gamedev #devlog

We're still looking for a couple more artists! One for tcg-esque card frames, and one for UIs (Menus, buttons, icons). Drop me some portfolios! No AI, obviously. #gamedev #indiedev #artists

Not gonna lie, these heat waves are making it difficult to focus. Then the storms and their power outages aren't very helpful either. So i've been working on lighter but still necessary stuff; Improving menu navigation, balancing, hitbox tweaks, and a massive slew of bugs fixed!

Crea's Devtime @creadev.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

This week's focus is Text, and lots of it. Not very exciting, but necessary. Filling out extra info, tips, lore, fixing term consistencies and typos, and basically removing as many of the placeholder texts as possible.

Busy month so progress is a tad slow, but still happening! This week's focus is on tuning up spells so they feel more immediately impactful, as opposed to units that are a long term investment. #gamedev #indiedev #devlog

Not sure why bsky thought this tiny screenshot needed to be stretched so much. It's really not that impressive. :(

This week i'll be finishing the Chapter 1 revamp and then taking a look at Research upgrades. Currently, Health and Damage upgrades give units a flat bonus, which is either brokenly strong or utterly useless depending on the units. Gotta fix that. #gamedev #indiedev #devlog

Nothing special this week! Still working on revamping chapter 1. About 1/3rd done, ended up doing a ton of bug fixing along the way so it's taking a while.

This week's focus is on implementing our first official background! And setting up the foundations for their randomization. Also, revamping chapter 1's stages to make use of the newer, more complete card and skill lists. #gamedev #indiedev #devlog

How does a lil' weekly devblog sound? Could be fun to try. This week's focus is on resolutions, windowed sizes and image scaling. Adding options and making sure everything still looks clear and readable. So far so good! #gamedev #indiedev #devblog

I keep forgetting to post here, but things are still progressing smoothly! Just finished putting together 30 enemy decks for the Skirmish mode, each of which will play slightly differently based on the difficulty. Should offer a good amount of variety! #gamedev #indiedev #cardgame

Just finished a new build that brings our skill trees up to a total of 60 skills! (20 for each faction) They'll need tweaking and balancing of course, but otherwise the skill trees feel like they're in a good spot now. That's another big milestone! #gamedev #indiedev

Happy new year! I can't get over how much this project has progressed in such a short time. Still lots to do, but i'm still as excited as the day i started. My goals for 2026; Find the artists we still need (BGs & UIs), set up Chapter 2, and bring our total cards up to 70! #gamedev #indiedev

I hate when games give vague descriptions without actual stats, so i intend to make sure ALL info is available to players. It's rough but i already made a dynamic stats popup system for all possible unit/upgrade/buff combinations, and i am damn proud of it. #gamedev #indiedev
