I wish social media had served me just as well. But these platforms were never designed for that, were they? Best wishes. ✌️

So with a heavy heart, I denounce these places and set them aside to collect dust. I’ll still put up things with social connections occasionally (like collabs) and links to HIGH JINX. Otherwise, I stick to my circles on Discord. Best wishes to all of the amazing artists who social media serves well.

My webcomic will still get plugged on my social medias but I don’t see myself sharing as much art going forward anymore. I can put up my best works on my portfolio. Maybe down the line, after I’ve healed these age-old wounds, I’ll occasionally share my work again. But that’s in the future.

I need to know who I am as an artist outside of trying to get traction on every miserable website. The memes are good, but as it stands, I just won’t be hanging around these parts with much intent anymore. I will pursue making HIGH JINX and my art on my own time. I‘ll share if I want to.

There is value in all art. Art is a form of self-expression. And when that self-expression feels rejected, it hurts. Feeling ignored and unseen feels no better. I have been fighting to feel seen while being unable to see myself. But, this last month of simply not posting art has cleared my vision.

Since leaving da behind as my primary art platform, I have given my all to making social media a better experience for myself. It has not worked. Social media has never served me as an artist. Good for laughs but ultimately, I know where I stand as an artist online. But that’s not a bad thing.

As a kid, I struggled to make connections with others, my age or otherwise. On the Internet, I felt as though I could supersede that loneliness I felt then. It worked, in some ways, but it didn’t change my underlying issues. And when many artists moved to Twitter, my relationship with art shuddered.

not to share too much about myself online in one go, but I think a lot of people (like myself) started posting online for fun and to connect with others. And while I’m grateful for the connections I’ve made being an artist and moving around platforms, I hate what posting art online has become.

Happy New Year, everyone! I feel like this is as good of a time as many to officially say I’ll be taking a semi-hiatus from posting art online. After discussion and some reflection, I’ve come to the conclusion that after about 14, almost 15 years of sharing my art online, I need to step away.

Why, thank you! That's very nice of you to say, I appreciate it I'm trying to get comfortable with experimenting again so this really lifts my spirits surrounding it c: I'll definitely do more with more characters!

Truly one of the greatest cartoons I’ve ever watched to this day! Cartoon Network really filled us with so much passion and inspiration from early on, I don’t think I’ve watched ANY channel in my life more than them.
