Don’t know why Nintendo even bothers “announcing” motion controls as a feature anymore. Every single Nintendo game with any sort of aiming has had them for almost 10 years. Its basically a given feature, like having graphics.

I'm the biggest defender of alternative control schemes. I love the Wii pointer for shooters. I love the DS touch screen for puzzles and aiming. I love gyro aim. But BOI OH BOI is Phantom Hourglass trying my patience. Why is the touch screen used for WALKING?

Gyro aim(motion controls) are objectively more accurate than analog sticks for aiming. They should be an industry standard, and, In games with aiming, they should be on by default and replace aim assist They should still be optional, and AA should still exist. But as an easy mode/accessibility only

I beat Pseudoregalia. This game has some SERIOUS SHMOVENNT. Like, getting around places in the game feels great. Combat is smooth, and stylish. The N64 esthetic looks gorgeous. It reminds me of an N64 equivalent to mouthwashing’s artstyle But, like, why is her ASS like that tho!? 8.5/10

Speaking of the game awards, I beat Baldur’s Gate 3 today(it was probably a bad idea to play that game in a year where I challenged myself to play lots of games but w/e) Its absolutely fantastic! Cant wait to play again! A patch with new subclasses and Crossplay!? Sign me UP

A game i beat this year was Shadow the Hedgehog. Technically Ive beaten it before, but im playing the fan mod “Reloaded” basically “fixes” the game It fees a lot better, but its still the same game. Which was ok at best. If only the game felt exactly like SA2, itd be a flawless game. 7/10

I beat Parasite Eve this year. Its crazy how FOCUSED Square is was on RBGs during this time. They say the success of Resident Evil and they thought “Lets RPG-fy it!” Looks great for the time. Good music. Love the characters. 8.5/10

The first game i beat this year was A Plague’s Tale: Innocence. Man, the hype was REAL. This game is fantastic. I have a brother that’s around the same age as the kid brother in the game and boy did it make me feel some feels. 9/10

If u were significantly bothered by the motion controls in games Like Mario Galax or DKCR, u played them wrong. U heard “shake” and decoded to violently shake the wiimote like in a Wii commercial when a quick downward thrust would’ve sufficed. Sure its inefficient, but ultimately unproblematic

I replayed Sonic Adventure 1&2. SA1 is a bit jank, but fun if you can tame it. SA2 is less janky, but AMAZING once you get used to it. 6/10 and 9/10

I beat The Simpsons Hit& Run this year. The early game is pretry fun. The voice acting is really funny sometimes, but it gets old by the late game. And there isnt much in the way if variety. Hell, the last 3 missions are exactly the same. Fun, but not as good as i remember 6/10

I beat Cuphead. I have a theory that when games are designed to be hard, even the most talented devs that master the art of “difficult but fair” still let pass a few blatantly unfair little interactions The game is fantastic otherwise(except for that King Dice boss fight. It was awful) 8.5/10

I played Katamari Damacy this year. I just dont get it…? The game controls like absolute ass(both old controls and the new reroll controls) the ball never seems to go where u want it to go. At least the music is good and the dialog is fun. 4/10

This year I beat Horizon Forbidden West. Its not much different than the first one. Still a solid open world game that fees a little dated compared to BotW. And now TotK. It still good tho. One thing i really appreciate is how the game ABSOLUTELY HATES rich people. Thats always a plus for me. 8.5/10

I beat Pokemon Colosseum this year. The existence of that game is super baffling to me. It is a heck of a while lot darker than most other Pokemon games, but the story is so nothing. Its a heck of a whole lot harder tho. As a progression of the Stadium formula, its fine. 6.5/10

This DLC for GOTY debacle reminds me, I beat Splatoon 2’s DLC this year! It is pretty good. Solid game and decent stort also topical, i dint expect to lean so heavily REAL racism. Not cartoonishly evil fake racism but “ur one of the good ones” and “ur surprisingly eloquent” kind of racism 8/10

Beat Halo 1 for this 1st time this year. Its a lot more, basic(?) than I expected. But i guess that makes sense. Its more of an evolution of the old PS1/N64 FPS games. Cant argue on its impact tho. It finally made shooters tolerable on analog sticks. Not my experience tho. I used gyro aim B) 8.5/10

Another game I beat this year was Street Fighter 6. Specifically the World Tour mode. Man… I genuinely don’t understand people’s obsession with single player fighting games. Fighting against a CPU is either piss easy or they’re actively cheating. Some of the writing is pretty neat tho, i guess.

I understand the reasoning. The stick is for turning only, aiming. So they turn off up and down so your aim doesn’t unintentionally sway up or down because you weren’t dead center on the 90 degree mark. They should still have the option. And add flick stick while they’re at it
