I can say that things in Sweden are indeed pretty decent. But as this post says, nothing compares to the institutional investment in science in the USA (at least for now - but while things are looking bad in the USA, they are not exactly perking up in other places)

Sorry - been a busy day, but I have been meaning to write to you. It worked GREAT! I am extremely impressed and will absolutely suggest that we implement this in my group. The test paper I tried was a bit of an intended challenge because it was organic synthesis. qed was quite good a finding “gaps”.

The red dot is a baby North Atlantic right whale trying to migrate up the east coast of the United states. The blue streaks are fast moving shipping vessels entering and leaving New York City harbor. One collision and the whale is dead. We need *mandatory* speed limits for these vessels! 🧪🦑🌍

Yes - this is required for all large instrument purchases in the EU. It is quite a time consuming process to write the tender - specify all of the must and should demands - and then go through the negotiations. But is required by law.
