Meet & Greet

September 1st, 2026 | 6 - 8 PM

ANDY ELLIS FOR GOVERNORAchievable Goals for the 2026 General Election:

• at 1% (~21,000-24,000 votes) we secure
Green Party ballot access for 2028 and the best Green Party performance in a Governor's race.

• at 1.6% (~33,000-38,000 votes) we would have the best third-party performance by vote share and vote count in a
gubernatorial race in my lifetime (50 years on election day).

• At 2% (~42,000- 48,000 votes) we would have the best third-party performance in a gubernatorial race by vote share in the 2Oth and the 21st century.

• At 3.3% (~63,000- 72,000 votes) we would have the best third-party
performance by vote share, in a Maryland Governor's race since reconstruction.

• At 3.4% (~71,400-81,600 votes) we would have the best Statewide Green Party performance by vote share.

• At 4.3% (~91,000- 104,000 votes) we would have the best performance by vote count outside the two party system in a gubernatorial race since Reconstruction.

"I can't take credit for that framing. Daniel J.
Grimm argued it in the Columbia Law Review Forum last November: the central wrong of ghost jobs is the privacy harm, because applicants surrender detailed personal data in exchange for a chance at employment that does not exist, which means the consent they gave was induced by deception and was never informed consent at all."

Our fight continues.
While we are still waiting for tens of thousands of mail-in ballots to be counted across Prince George's County, it has become apparent that our campaign will come up short. However, that doesn't take away from the valiant efforts of the grassroots coalition of union members, electoral & campaign finance reform advocates, progressive activists, federal workers, students, and retirees that we assembled in just a short few months.

Our people-powered organizing efforts were so successful that they drew the ire of both the establishment and corporate interests aligned with the online gambling and sports betting industry that then poured over $130k of dark money into District 22 to drown us out. The problem for them is we are still here, and we refuse to be silenced.

I look forward to continuing my advocacy for the democratic reforms that we made the hallmark of our campaign because I believe achieving a just and equitable society is downstream of returning the power to the people in our elections.

Happy Pride Month! 🌈 ✊
THE FIRST PRIDE WAS NOT A PARADE.

IT WAS AN UPRISING.

In June 1969, LGBTQ+ people at the Stonewall Inn fought back against police harassment and discrimination. The movement that followed was led by activists who refused to accept that they were second-class citizens.

People like Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, Stormé DeLarverie, and countless others put their bodies on the line so future generations could live more freely.

Pride did not begin with corporate sponsorships or rainbow logos. It began with resistance. It began with courage. It began when people decided they had been told "no" for long enough.

This Pride Month, we honor the activists who threw the first punches against injustice and built a movement that changed the world.
And we remember that the fight is not over.
As attacks on LGBTQ+ rights continue across the country, solidarity is not optional.

Equality is not negotiable.
Trans rights are human rights.

Happy Pride Month.

Any decision would need to prioritize voter clarity, election integrity, and administrative readiness, while ensuring that changes improve- not complicate- public
confidence in elections.* I would support reforms like RCV should be [sic] evaluated carefully through pilot programs, local-option adoption, or phased implementation before any statewide expansion.

The reality:
*Exit polls and post-election surveys consistently find that voters like and understand RCV by overwhelming margins.

With nearly 20 years of experience in political campaigns, I understand the inherent flaws in our first-past-the-post system. As much of the rest of the world has already found out, there are better ways to conduct democratic elections that give power back to the people and produce better policy outcomes. Proportional ranked choice voting, public financing of elections, and special elections for state legislative vacancies would all ensure Marylanders have a meaningful voice in who represents them in Annapolis.

Snippet from Josh Kurtz’s article on state legislative races in Maryland:

“Prince George's-palooza: There is an abundance of intriguing House primaries in Prince George's County - some in districts where very few incumbents are running again.
In District 22, the lone incumbent on the ballot is Del. Ashanti Martinez (D), the chair of the Legislative Latino Caucus, who was appointed to the job in 2023 after twice running unsuccessfully for the seat. Another strong contender is Molly McKee-Seabrook, who has worked for the district's former senator, Paul Pinsky (D), and for Senate President Bill Ferguson (D-Baltimore City). But don't count out Edmonston Mayor Tracy Gant or Craig Hayes, a progressive political strategist.”

By Dick Myers
Staff Writer
Hundreds of St. Mary's County residents om March 28 joined millions nationwide in thousands of No Kings rallies against
President Donald Trump.
The Leonardtown rally was part of a nationwide day of nonviolent protest as part of the third No Kings National Day of Action. Local organizers with St. Mary's County Indivisible hosted the rally from 2
to 4 p.m. at the intersection of Route S and Hollywood Road.
According to a press release, community members "gathered to call for accountabil-ity, defend democratic norms, and reject authoritarianism."
The St. Mary's County event is one of more than 3,000 coordinated actions nationwide, "reflecting growing grassroots momentum across the country."
"This is bigger than political disagree-ment," said Andy Wilson, organizer with St.
Mary's County Indivisible. "We're bringing together local residents from all walks of life who recognize that this administration has defied our courts, harmed American cit-
izens, and undermined essential services, all while prioritizing the interests of billion-aires. We are not going to stand by and watch it happen; we're pushing back."
According to the press release, "The No Kings movement is a mass, nonviolent coalition effort that has already mobilized millions of participants nationwide. Previous days of action drew over five million participants in June 2025 and more than seven million people across 2,700+ events in October 2025, spanning all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Organizers say the movement continues to grow as communitics unite to defend civil liberties, uphold the rule of law, and push back against concentrated power."
"All No Kings events are rooted in nonviolence and community safety," Wilson added. "We are committed to peaceful protest and ensuring that everyone who shows up can participate safely …
