Aw. They're sharing. They like each other ❤️ I don't know if these cats have ever laid down touching each other before.

Today Trump’s NIH Director Bhattacharya announced a “research” initiative to study the “causes of autism.” It looks like it’s a surveillance initiative, to be frank. A few notes. 1/3

We're finally feeling like we're on more solid ground here. Our residency was approved Monday🎇, just need to get our cards. We were just approved for an apartment. 🎉 Today we got a Spanish bank account. ✨ All during our birthday week. Can't wait to go celebrate tomorrow with so much less stress!

Officially getting sick for the first time since the move. Chills, fever, and headache set in this evening when I woke up from a nap. Steve seems to be coming down with it too. 🤒

After giving the cat a small piece of chicken to apologize for disturbing him when I sat down to eat dinner, I realized ... I had made an a-pollo-gy. Sorry, not sorry.

First diamond painting, maybe the last, I don't know 😅. Might be too addictive. But it's satisfying, gives that accomplishment dopamine fix with a shiny and frameable result and is very mindless so I can listen to a show etc. I also have a puzzle and a paint-by-number on deck lol #diamondpainting

Nuestro primer pulpo con patatas y un rabo de toro con patatas fritas en un restaurante justo enfrente de nuestra calle. El pulpo estaba bueno y tierno, pero ese rabo era mágico.✨ We had our first 🐙 with potatoes and some ox tail with fries at a restaurant right across the street. 🐙:✅ 🍖:💯🔥

Never ceases to amuse me how gory this always looks. Feels good to do this here, somehow doing something that isn't an everyday caretask feels more grounding. Fingers crossed it turns out and the Google translate didn't do me dirty 😆

Successful first bus trip ✅ Went to A Coruña to get hair supplies, got some amazing pizza and carbonara at Sicilia en Bocca, and took some pictures. How is every cup of café con leche here the best coffee I've ever had? Each sip after each bite of house made stracciatella ice cream was just ✨🫠

A great brunch to celebrate the day we became exclusive. It's become a custom for me to buy Steve flowers today to thank him for being such a patient man (both initially while waiting for me to take my foot off the brakes as well as on a daily basis ❤️) It's our Sadie Hawkins day of sorts.

Breaking news: Fascists gonna fash. Perhaps the faster everyone (who is capable of it) accepts that's what they are, the faster people will stop being surprised at everything they do and move on to what they can do to fight it.

La Casa de Pollán, built in 1920, is one of Sada's local examples of the modernist architecture of that time. I love the windows and balconies.

Tiktok has officially aligned itself with Trump. Biden wasn't enforcing the ban, TikTok didn't have to go dark, but when they did they put up that message about working with Trump.. and now it's magically back, and Trump hasn't even taken office yet? Nope nope NOPE. Tiktok is compromised. Deleted.

Some people sitting home sipping their tea saying this is just “performative.” I lived the 60s-70s protests that ultimately gave us many rights that are now in danger. Start getting loud and do your part bc this is our country, our rights, our democracy and our freedoms slipping away. #PeoplesMarch

VPN won't help get TikTok back on a phone, it won't even work for me over here because I have a US bank account associated with Google Play which is how I downloaded tiktok and how they seem to verify your location. Not sure when we are going to actually get a Spanish bank account, so.. 🤷‍♀️

Just so you all know, a VPN won't work to get tiktok back on your phone, But it could work to use it on an internet browser on a computer. Steve was able to open a new tiktok account on his computer here in Spain.

I'm doing it, leaving Facebook and Instagram for at least the next month and then will check in. I've heard 4 months might be necessary to make a dent. It's something we can do from over here in Spain, though older friends and family may hate us leaving fb two weeks after leaving the states 😬
