This is always something that confused me about slurs, something like this gets talked about like it is "slang" and thus fine to use ironically... but it is a "derogatory slang" with intent to dehumanize a group of people. Bro that's a SLUR.

I sometimes think the pre-roll ad system on Twitch is probably the most damaging thing to the platform and the creators on the platform. Like I get that it is them holding a gun to streamer's heads to force them to run ads but it's definitely the worst way to do it...

I think one of the worst feelings with the kinds of changes an adaptation can have is the sense that some new writer or director decides something needs modernized/changed for whatever arbitrary reason and like... It makes it feel like someone thinks I was wrong for enjoying it how it was...?

Legit at this point if I loved it growing up I'm just going to assume the adaptation is going to ruin it and ruin whatever fanbase is left attached to it. Soooo done with adaptations at this point, they have to do a lot to earn my interest in engaging with them.

But this might also be an issue with people taking concepts like "show don't tell" to way more of an extreme than intended. Like how else are we supposed to convey a full conversation other than... text boxes...? If the intent is a character talking, you're gonna have a lot of showing by telling.

It's not exactly a great look to basically be like "I like the new version better because it has less words" when the original felt really well written even if it did mean it had some pretty dialogue-heavy pages that were majority reading.

One of the most major differences between the One Punch Man Manga and Webcomic is how much wordier the original webcomic is. It's fascinating to me how we've gotten to a point where a lot of manga fans in general take a "less words is better" stance to the medium...
