we added a page for queers thinking about migrating to Canada :3 expat.lgbt/canada.html

Canada
Queer acceptance and safety

person 1:

Some provinces are safer than others. Provinces with Conservative political governments tend to be worse - but a better way to tell would be to have a look at recent transgender legislature in any province. For example, Nova Scotia does technically have a Conservative government, but we recently released a plan to ensure 2SLGBTQIA+ safety here. There doesn't seem to be a high threat to transgender rights in Nova Scotia. However, Alberta seems to be have some anti-trans legislature coming to the forefront.

person 2:

It's great. People treat you no differently than they would if you were cis. I can walk down the street and not be stared at by everyone. I won't get spat on here either! The people are the main reason to come here, they're great eh!

It's not just my area too. I've been to almost every province, and for the most part you could throw a dart at a map of Canada, go to where it lands, and the people there will be lovely to you. Even in rural Alberta I had no trouble, they wouldn't leave me alone!

This is my go-to anxiety doodle lately. Soothing. #art

A white sketchbook page with an abstract doodle drawn with blue highlighter, overlaid with a pattern drawn in black calligraphy pen. The pen is lying to the right of the drawing, the words PITT calligraphy pen visible on the side.

This comic is a sort of kind of sequel to this ancient comic from waaaay back on Twitter.

A girl painted in teal leans into some sort of furry black creature. She looks forlorn, and text on the right side of the image reads, "I feel so lost all the time. I'm changing so fast. People I love have left me. I've walked away from others to save myself.

The dark figure is revealed to be a hulking creature with wings, the artist's interpretation of Moth man. The girl buries her face in the creature, surrounded by a teal fog. She says, "Sometimes I think I'm not meant for people."

An image showing two glowing teal eyes, illuminating what appear to be feathers. Moth man says, "Change is inevitable. To refuse that truth is to suffer. Let them look upon you with delight or dread."

The girl stands near the front of the image now, with Moth man looking down at her. the girl's eyes now glow like Moth man's, and she cups her face cautiously. Her hair sways in the wind. Moth man says, "You are mine as all omens are. Embrace your reckoning."

You're stronger than you think. (1/2) #Mothman

A comic page with three panels. The first panel shows a pair of legs in black boots and jean shorts walking towards a round figure in the background. The girl walking says "Hey dad, I'm back."

The second panel shows the round, dark figure in the background stand up to reveal itself to be a massive winged creature with moth antennae, the artist's interpretation of Mothman. The figure who was walking in the first panel is revealed to be a furry dog girl with pink hair and glasses, as well as a pink flannel, a spiked writs bracer and a spiked collar. She stands at about a tenth of the size of Mothman. She says, "Sorry it's been a minute. Weird fucking year."

In panel three, we get a close up of her. She holds a duffel back behind her back and looks off to the side. She says, "I meant to call."

A comic page with two panels.

In the first panel, the dog girl sits on her duffel bag as Moth man begins to envelop her in his wings. She says, "I just wanted there to be good news, I guess."

In panel two, Mothman's wings begin to glow a ghostly green as green fog envelops the dog girl. He says, "You are here. This is not good news?"

A comic page with three panels.

In the first panel, the dog girl shrugs and says, "I guess?"

In the second panel, we see her from above as she leans over herself, her figure becoming smaller as it hunches over. She says, "Feels like all I did this year was survive."

In the third panel, a now brightly glowing Mothman looks down at the dog girl and says, "That is not good news?"

A comic with three panels.

In the first panel, the dog girl sits on her duffel bagm holding her body with both arms and looking off to the side. "You know what I mean," she says.

In panel two, we get a close-up of Moth man's eyes, and we see the dog girl's reflection in them. He says, "I do."

In the third panel, we see a ghostly green trail of energy that flows forward towards the camera, with several ghostly green images of the dog girl placed along the trail. They all look sad, in pain, or timid. Surrounding them are several words in various shades of green. They read, "Fear, self-doubt, depression, transphobia, chronic pain, loss, poverty."

we only ever evolved to see and experience fungi and they will persist for an eternity past once we're long gone

Fungi diverged from other life around 1.5 billion years ago,[1][2] with the glomaleans branching from the "higher fungi" (dikaryans) at ~570 million years ago, according to DNA analysis. (Schüssler et al., 2001; Tehler et al., 2000)[2] Fungi probably colonized the land during the Cambrian, over 500 million years ago, (Taylor & Osborn, 1996),[2] and possibly 635 million years ago during the Ediacaran,[3][4] but terrestrial fossils only become uncontroversial and common during the Devonian, 400 million years ago.[2]

Fewer and fewer are doing the "it" and it's not because we don't want to but because the system expects you to automate it and spend all the rest of your energy on work.

That's why everything feels so soulless. And why it may feel like you are the final and only *soulful* thing in your most immediate perception of reality.

I feel like what separates the current era from the previous one is that in the previous one people were trying to automate work and in the current one we're trying to automate *The Process*.

Blender 4.3 (currently in beta) added a "For Each element" node which lets you use fields on node inputs that would only take single values. (circle sockets) Now you can apply fields to strings, allowing for cool things like this to be possible! #blender #b3d #geometrynodes
