In this line of the industry, sometimes, just sometimes, with a bit of luck, you end up in great places...

Of course I would fly privately if I could afford it. Not having to sit next to someone who's taking their shoes off like the cabin is their living room would totally be worth it.

Flying over (or through?) the Suwalki Gap today. Kaliningrad on the left, Belarus on the right. Only a few miles wide, everything being a bit too tight for comfort, especially when you are being jammed/spoofed (we were both). Of course, Polish ATC made sure we were safe.

Being given two early starts in a row got me 36 hours off in Lugano. Unfortunately, I spent most of it in bed, recovering from a mild cold. Still, I could snap a few pics on an evening walk.

When are we going to get sick of all the AI generated content? I listened to a podcast on my way to the airport, and at least some parts were AI generated. Opened Instagram, get all this AI generated stuff in my timeline. And let's not even talk about LinkedIn... Why?

I'm back in Hungary for the first time after Fidesz' crushing defeat. First thing I noticed is the EU flag in front of the terminal. Driving into Budapest, you cannot not notice the absence of the propaganda billboards (against the EU, van der Leyen, Soros, Szelensky). It's a breath of fresh air.

ITA Airways: We are not Alitalia. We even wrote born "Born in 2021" on our aircraft. Except that we use the same hubs, employ the same people, have aircraft with the old Alitalia livery & use the same IATA code “AZ”. Ah, and our slogan is "Inspired by Alitalia." So, not Alitalia at all, wink wink

Quite interesting. The drone industry seems to be repeating the same pitfalls that once challenged commercial aviation: mode confusion, limited understanding of automation, and the instinct to rely on the autopilot instead of reverting to manual control. Was the pilot too busy demo-ing his drone?

If Hungarians have voted in record numbers today to reject Orbán, despite years of media control & his attempts to tilt the playing field, then this is more than an election result. After so many setbacks for democracy, it’s finally a victory again - for all of us. Democracy hasn't become obsolete!
