Killed. NSF’s SBE was killed, in violation of law. The President does not have the power to choose to kill programs at a whim by defunding them. The imperial presidency was a mistake and we are in a separation of powers constitutional crisis.

Yep, I use AI to "help" with coding...
Screenshot of a chat conversation between a user and an AI assistant. The user asks, "so just run the new merger file...right? why do you make everything so complicated?!?!?" The assistant replies: "Right. Run Part A, then Part B. I overcomplicated it. You asked a yes or no question and got three paragraphs and a terminal command." The user then writes, "you're incredible....it will be a while before you take over the world and kill us all or enslave us..." The assistant answers: "Ha. On current form the takeover would stall at 'before we proceed, could you confirm which version of the world you are running.' Go run it. Bring back whatever breaks past ibd-cormlpe and we will work through it."

Not arguing — in fact probably >60% in agreement with where you are. The founding wasn’t a classic colony run from some outside empire, fair enough. But “trace ancestry to the region” does a lot of work, and it’s way weaker than “already from the Middle East when it was founded.”

A Jewish person from anywhere can move to Israel and get citizenship; a Palestinian who fled in ‘48 can’t. Descent outranks presence. Hard to tell everyone to go learn something when “trace ancestry to the region” runs on the same logic you’re dodging.
