Crisp conditions are back around the valley this morning thanks to clear skies and calm winds overnight. Once we get the sun up however, it's shaping up to be a great day to get out and enjoy the fall festivities around the region. #ndwx #mnwx

Happy homecoming Saturday around the valley! The morning batch of showers are sliding out, but clouds will continue with brief light rain possible for the late morning/early afternoon. However the main hiccup may be a bit of a breeze at 10-20 mph into the afternoon #ndwx #mnwx

It's a mixed bag across the region this morning. In Lakes Country, where we saw the most rain yesterday, we have a foggy start to your Sunday morning, with some spots likely seeing reduced visibility through the late morning. To the west however, it is much clearer. #ndwx #mnwx

Showers sliding north across the region, and we are tracking a rainy start to the weekend. While showers will remain light for most, the steady rain will make things damp around the Red River Valley today. If you're looking for sunshine, make sure to get out tomorrow. #ndwx #mnwx

It's a touch cooler to start out your Sunday morning, but by the afternoon? Nearly a repeat of yesterday, so a great day to get out on the porch or patio and get some grilling done before football this afternoon, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s today. #ndwx #mnwx

It's a seasonable fall weekend around the valley, with winds staying light. The main catches? You may still run into a misty/foggy patch this morning, and we will be underneath a blanket of clouds for today, with a little more sun tomorrow. Not too bad of a tradeoff. #ndwx #mnwx

Yesterday brought a long stretch of summer weather to a close around the region. Yesterday was the first time we'd stayed in the 60s since mid-June, but we will have the cool weather sticking around again today, and a chance for rain moving in to start the week. #ndwx #mnwx

We've got fall-like weather coming into the region today, with lows near 50° this morning. Behind last night's cold front, winds stay out of the northwest, keeping highs in the 60s this afternoon. Also known as: perfect weather to be watching football this weekend. #ndwx #mnwx

The overnight showers are starting to weaken as we head past sunrise. However, we will be keeping an eye on a stronger batch developing along the Cold Front moving east this evening across North Dakota, with the main threat being winds up to 75 mph for Central ND. #ndwx #mnwx

We've had a cluster of thundershowers move through Lakes Country this morning, with some spots seeing 1-3" of rain in the heavies band, and pockets over 3". While we have been dry, low lying areas may have some flooding this morning, so stay safe traveling today. #mnwx #ndwx

It's a crisp start to your Sunday morning across the Valley, with Fargo searching for the first morning in the 40s since late July, and some spots north of US-2 in the low 40s. However, summer will return quickly this afternoon, with 80s on the way this afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx

A beautiful sunrise to kick off the weekend, and there's plenty of sunshine on the way. We had hit & miss showers last night, but now the clouds are clearing out, and rain chances stay spotty into the start of the week. #ndwx #mnwx

We're seeing lower 50s where clouds have cleared for much of the night, but where we still have the clouds rolling out of Lakes Country, temperatures are in the 60s. Today looks to be a great one to get outside in the sunshine, with 70s and low 80s for the afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx

Rainfall rates have been light, but steady overnight through Lakes Country, with some spots slowly accumulating a half inch of rain this morning. Most of the region is also seeing mist to some extent. #ndwx #mnwx

Rain! It was great to be able to hear rumbles of thunder heading to the station this morning. Now the rain was pretty much isolated to Cass County, and it wasn't much (only 0.13" at WDAY), but there are a few more chances of spotty showers coming up quickly this week. #ndwx #mnwx

It'll be a touch on the warm side today, but you can't frame it much better than this for the daytime hours. Get out and enjoy the sunshine this weekend. We are tracking the chance for an isolated thundershower once we get into the evening though. #ndwx #mnwx

We're continuing a warm start to August today, with a bit more of a breeze. Highs top out near 90° for a warm afternoon, and we are still keeping an eye on the risk for a few severe thunderstorms by the time we get to Monday afternoon and evening. #mnwx #ndwx

How dry has it been in Fargo? Here's one way to put it. Climatologically, May, June, and July are the wettest months of the year. Well over those 3 months, we've seen only 4.24" of rain, with around half of that coming on June 3rd and 28th. #ndwx #mnwx

It's the hottest day of the forecast, with highs looking to approach the upper 90s and triple digits this afternoon. After we hit the peak of heating for the day, we may also have the chance for a t-storm across NW MN, but those will be hit-or-miss for the evening. #ndwx #mnwx

After we had a couple cooler days in the middle of the week, the heat has now returned for the final weekend in July. Tomorrow looks to be a touch hotter than today, but both will be hot and humid, so have ways to stay cool in the afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx

Isolated thundershowers are moving through North Dakota this morning, but will look to fizzle out within the next few hours. The evening will bring in another chance for t-storms, with the main risks being hail and strong winds into the night as they push east. #ndwx #mnwx

Calm weather is on the way to start the weekend. There's a hint of haze still around Lakes Country, and parts of the northern valley are dealing with pockets of fog, but by the afternoon we'll have plenty of sunshine, improving air quality, and highs in the upper 80s. #ndwx #mnwx

Charles Pekar @cpekarwx.bsky.social · 17/07/2026
Air quality has taken a sharp turn for the worse this morning as the cold front moves in. As winds shift to the north, that is dragging the smoke that had been north of the valley down through the valley and to the surface for the late morning and early afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx

Charles Pekar @cpekarwx.bsky.social · 12/07/2026
We are setting up for another hot and sunny day throughout the valley. Highs look to climb to the upper 90s and low triple digits for some this afternoon, with dewpoints in the 70s for one more day. Make sure to stay hydrated as we wrap up the weekend! #ndwx #mnwx

Charles Pekar @cpekarwx.bsky.social · 11/07/2026
Stay hydrated, and have multiple ways to stay cool, that's what's important this weekend. While we've got a few morning clouds, those will quickly give way to sunshine beating down on the region through the start of this week. #ndwx #mnwx

Grab that sunscreen today, because we've got plenty of sunshine, heat, and humidity to wrap up the holiday weekend. As we head into the week, we are keeping an eye on a few rounds of T-Showers starting late tonight. #mnwx #ndwx

It's nearly a completely calm morning for the start of the 4th of July across North Dakota. However, those calm conditions have allowed a little fog to settle in across the northern valley, but visibility will quickly improve through the morning. #ndwx #mnwx

Charles Pekar @cpekarwx.bsky.social · 14/06/2026
The clouds quickly gave way to clear skies overnight, and that has led to a cool start to your Sunday morning. However, if you're looking for a warmer day, you're in luck. We've got plenty of sunshine on the way today, with highs warming to the 70s this afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx

A burst of some summer sweater weather? Yes Please! That just means it's time for an evening fire this weekend. Seasonably cool air is moving in, but it's not getting too cold. Some spots struggle to leave the 50s today, with most seeing highs in the low 60s. #ndwx #mnwx

Storms are looking to be strongest across central North Dakota this evening, with the main risk being winds up to 70 mph, hail up to 2", and an isolated tornado threat. Storms look to initiate around 5-6 pm (CDT) and push east through the night. #ndwx

There's some patchy fog out around the region this morning, but that will dissipate quickly over the next hour as we heat up today. It will also start to turn humid, with dewpoints near 60° today, and then in the 60s through the start of the week. #ndwx #mnwx

The last sunrise in May is a beautiful one across the valley this morning. However, we have another batch of t-showers on their way. They may weaken a little as they cross the SD/ND border, but the southern valley will have hit-or-miss t-showers for much of the day. #ndwx #mnwx

A beautiful sunrise over the Fargo-Moorhead area ahead of the Marathon this morning. Sprinkles may slide in by start time, but any showers will remain light, with a bit of a breeze and clouds helping mitigate the head as we slowly warm to the 80s today. #ndwx #mnwx

Along with the heat today, we're seeing thunderstorms bubble up across Lakes Country. You can see those to the East of Fargo. For the late afternoon and evening, a few of these may bring 60 mph wind gusts and small hail across the southern Valley and Lakes Country. #ndwx #mnwx

It's a mixed bag this morning: Thunder Showers just south of Red Lake, Fog in the Northern Valley, to just a beautiful sunrise around the southern Valley. No matter how you start, we're all warming up today, with plenty of sunshine by the afternoon and highs near 80°. #mnwx #ndwx

It's a damp start to Memorial Day Weekend around the valley. Showers are moving out, but where the rain is gone, fog has settled in. Visibility may cause travel troubles through the mid-morning, so plan to take it slow early on today. #ndwx #mnwx

We've got a beautiful sunrise this morning, but there's a cool down on the way. Highs today are split across the region, but it still will be a pleasant afternoon forecast that's sandwiched between the wind we had to wrap up the week and the rain that starts tomorrow. #ndwx #mnwx

Windy conditions this afternoon aren't just increasing the fire dangers, but they are whipping the dirt about from dry fields across the region. We calm down a bit tomorrow, but then winds ramp up again at the end of the week. #mnwx #ndwx

💐Happy Mother's Day! We've got a beautiful sunrise across the valley, a chilly start to the day, but then plenty of sunshine and a cool, but calm afternoon. Highs stay in the 50s once again today, but we're tracking a warmer week ahead. #ndwx #mnwx

🎣We've hit sunrise on the fishing opener for Minnesota, with a cool start to the north after a few showers slid through. The weekend will see highs in the 50s and 60s throughout, and we are tracking a warm-up for the coming week. #mnwx #ndwx

The second batch of showers for today has developed across the northern valley. We've seen sprinkles in both Grand Forks and Devils Lake this afternoon. Don't expect much rain out of these, but it'll add on to the cool and damp conditions we have for the afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx

Hold on to your hat, but get out and enjoy the sun today! We have brilliant blue skies, with west winds for much of the day, & highs in the 70s. In typical spring fashion, the 70s aren't here for long, as a wind shift tonight brings in a cool-down to start the week. #ndwx #mnwx

Now that's a way to start a weekend! A beautiful sunrise across Lakes Country, but most see clouds move in today, with seasonable highs in the 60s. Those clouds may bring a sprinkle or two this afternoon, but better chances of rain come in to start the week. #ndwx #mnwx

Another morning talking about the rain to come. We've seen a shift eastward, so while we're still tracking rain, I've cut back the North Dakota forecast totals a little, while the heaviest band remains to the south and east, I'll have more details on First News. #ndwx #mnwx 1/2

T-Showers are slowly moving northeast this morning, as fog lingers for the valley. As they do, a few spots may see small hail, but these are unlikely to get to severe levels. Below is a rough look to timing for the main cluster of cells moving through North Dakota. #ndwx #mnwx

The dense fog is widespread this morning, even with a bit of a breeze in Lakes Country. We'll see improvements late this morning, clearing from south to north. We've also got a warm-up on the way that will take care of the final patches of snow in the southern valley. #ndwx #mnwx

Clouds moving into the region are going to make the melting not as efficient today, but we still slowly chip away at the remaining snow pack this afternoon. A few sprinkles will stick around through the day, with a better chance for rain tonight into Sunday morning. #ndwx #mnwx
