[A DOG BIT ME] finally finished this after starting it in november...lol im glad i took my time tho bc im very happy with how it turned out. my favorite atm #GREENTI : GERBERO / MAUDEX #smallartist #fantasyillustraion #ocart

An original fantasy illustration of user COUNTERLUN's characters. Maudex, a young lady sphinx with mostly human resemblance, stands to the right of Gerbero, an older, upright standing griffin with the hind legs and tail of a lion and a human upper body, as he appears to walk beside or circle her. They wear south Balkan-esque attire. Gerbero's entire figure is outlined and colored with white and light pinkish-yellow hues, depicting his presence as something like an entity. His face is obscured by the red outline of a wolf's head, looking down upon Maudex, one arm extended out as if he is announcing something to her while his other hand remains on his hip. Maudex looks in the opposite direction, hands behind her back. Half of her body and face is obscured by a pitch-black shadow his towering body casts upon her. Her panther ears are pointed back and her cat tail is curled around to the front of her body in a defensive stance. Her expression feels annoyed or burdened, but she does not appear to have the intent to say anything to him. The surrounding environment is mostly obscured by Gerbero's large feathered wings, extended outwards, almost entirely enclosing Maudex while her own smaller feathered wings remain folded against her back. In the background above them, there are two birds flying out of the stone corridor, one tailing the other. The artwork is framed by floating apples and an apple peel curled around the bottom corner. The apples run up the side of the artwork Maudex stands on, from top to bottom the apples show varying stages of being eaten. Outlined with red in the same manner as the wolf obscuring Gerbero's face, these elements show how Maudex is made to feel in the moment.
