I worked for a day at some sketchy “charity” as an admin where they tried to get me to do door-to-door fundraising. I sat on a curb by a park for like three hours and scrolled twitter before they picked me up and then I just went home and never went back.

Spouse and I talk about this sometimes, we both were big anime dweebs coming up in our teens/20s, and it’s fascinating and weird to see it now versus then. It’s somehow everywhere but also no longer its own thing. Flat circle, monoculture, etc etc.
