The Galactic Dance 🌌 . After like weeks of cloudy weather, it cleared for a bit and I took this photo. #galaxies #cosmic

Need some good news? Bird collision deaths at Chicago's McCormick Place have dropped as much as 95% after the conference center installed Feather Friendly Bird Collision Deterrent Markers (an ABC-approved product)! www.goodgoodgood.co/articles/bir.... 🐦

Innovative 'polka dot' glass is saving thousands of birds from deadly window collisions
In October 2023, a thousand birds died in a single day after colliding with a Chicago convention center. Thanks to new bird-friendly glass, that number has shrunk dramatically.

Clean image of galaxy cluster MACS J1423, where the Firefly Sparkle galaxy is located. 🔭 🧪
Thousands of overlapping objects at various distances are spread across this field, including galaxies in a massive galaxy cluster, and distorted background galaxies behind the galaxy cluster. The background of space is black.

I love the modern day phone cameras. Night mode is mind blowing on #iphone #shotoniphone Can you identify some of the objects here? 🧐

As promised: JWST image of the deep universe, showing insane amount of galaxies gravitationally bound together. esawebb.org/images/weic2... 🔭 🧪
This annotated image shows hundreds of galaxies appearing in this view, which is set against the black background of space. There are many overlapping objects at various distances. Dozens of galaxies are individually identified with white circles, and a large white circle in the centre of the image highlights the collection of gravitationally-bound galaxies in the field. The bottom of the image shows a close-up of seven of these central galaxies. The objects visible in the image include large, blue foreground stars, some with eight diffraction spikes, and white and pink spiral and elliptical galaxies, as well as numerous tiny orange dots that appear throughout the scene.

Overwhelming beauty... These aptly named Pillars of Creation at the heart of the Eagle Nebula are part of an active star-forming region in the nebula and hide newborn stars in their columns (Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI/Joseph DePasquale, Alyssa Pagan, Anton M. Koekemoer)

The Medulla Nebula Supernova Remnant. Credit: Kimberly Sibbald
The Medulla nebula, also called Abell 85, LBN 576 and CTB-1, is a supernova remnant. CTB-1 is the expanding gas shell that was left when a massive star toward the constellation of Cassiopeia exploded about 10,000 years ago.

This deep sky object it's pretty faint and needs some deep integrations to show some detail. I struggled to get as much data as I could with my dual Takahashi FSQ setup during several full moon January 2022 nights. For the nebula structure I used a 3nm Ha filter in front of my ASI2600M and FSQ106 EDX4. On the other side, the FSQ85 was gathering lots of data in [OIII] with the smaller ASI294MM sensor. RGB images were also captured to create the starfield image in natural color.

Cosmic Canvas 🌌 My goal with this photograph was to reveal some of the most iconic celestial features within the Orion constellation. Swirling dust and faintly glowing clouds fill the frame, painting a breathtaking portrait of one of the most dynamic regions in the night sky #astrophotography #orion
