"saving time" in the art is an argument to disrespect the process of making art. it's saying there's parts of it that are beneath you and don't have value lettering has value. it's page composition, it's eyepath flow. figuring out how to show characters talking is the fucking point of comics

completely forgot about this work from november 2023. managed to duct tape everything together for a small showing where the fluids would flow and flow and flow. hoping to expand on this idea soon but trying to keep a viscous fluid contained is... nigh impossible LOL

words cannot describe how much work went into this. i had to look through so many old archives of the game engine's discord server for technical solutions and mods that weren't updated for the latest version of the engine, so i had to understand those mods to patch them for the newest version (rip)

digital painting from october 2024 i ended up converting into a shadow box! its super hard to photograph even after all this time... i spent like 20 hours just cutting out the paper shapes (on top of the 25 it took to paint the illustration), but it was really fun :]

acrylic + oil painting with a LOT of medium involved. i made the majority of the underpainting + texturing with acrylic paint + medium and then let that dry so i could render using oil paints! really fun
