Mindfulness. Perceiving and being aware of what it present and at hand, what is true in the moment (long or short in its extension) and acting, being receptive, and reacting in that moment of mindfulness. If I get that apartment, or even if not, it's all a step towards resolving some of all of that.

I still drank a few alcoholic drinks tonight, but non-alcoholic too. It's about replacing and over writing the more ingrained habits already established. If I do get approved for that apartment tomorrow, a smoke-free building, this will be a big step towards that being an issue in any way as well.

With the drinking, what has been helping besides my bro's disappointment and concern, is that since acknowledging, and having those appointments set up already, getting professional help and talking out what it is that is actually getting at me. I've been drinking NA beers as I would craft beers.

I could justify it however I like, but I really can't. Having to do so many things since my apartment fire, and knowing my past mental health, I set up a doctor's appointment which led to seeing a social worker and counselor. Not a reference to the mental health centre I asked for. A better option.

I got to a breaking point with my drinking the other week. I drank my brother's beer that he got while traveling and felt shame from his appointment. Aside from that, it has been getting out of hand and emerging through crisis is excuse. It became too habitual and just something to do in a day.

Tried scoping which units would have the best view for my telescope. Probably any in directions other than north facing ones. Also, 4th or 5th floor would kinda be necessary too. Drafted the above^ last night and now I know today I'd be on the 4th floor, eastern view. City centre, but s'all good.

Walked to the library and bank to print and retrieve all the paperwork I'll need for tomorrow. Walked by the new building too, which is also a block a way from where I was living before the fire.

On Thursday I get to check out the new apartment I applied for. Hope I get it and have a place to live again.

If Futurama is around in 2030 still, or off and on many times until then, I wonder if Deltron will show up in New New York. Futurama, now set in 3023, could even have Del around by this year as a prologue to the 3030 story. youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_n…

A hot sauce from Newks (Bada'Boom) is now on Hot Ones this season but I still associate them through Sea King first and foremost (Hazy Dream).

Wish there were more to the Disenchantment/Futurama episode tonight but twas still v satisfying overall. Love the back/forth communication between both series for whatever that means (and to all the yourube channels making connections between the shows). Lost (likely deleted) my old post about this.

Every Matt Groening cartoon has a completely different fate. The Simpsons has been ongoing since 1989. Futurama has been on the air, canceled, returned as a series of movies, picked up by another network, and picked up yet again. Disenchantment ended on their terms after five seasons, concluded.

I got to read an advance copy of Mark Anthony Jarman's upcoming novel "Wild West." It's like a revisionist western novel set in more northerly climates. Here's our discussion of the book: canadian-civil-war.pinecast.co/episode/114c...

Reports From Unknown Places @clever-reports.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

We report: there are flocks of birds in the sky at nightfall again. The days are still warm, but they are getting short, enough that we have to look out for the height of the sun in the late afternoons. Our export reminds us that the autumn equinox is in a few days.

Digital painting of a twilight sky, a gradient of blue to pastel yellow; there are long clouds spread out across the sky, with traces of pink still lingering there. There is a half moon glowing behind the clouds, and a flock of birds in the distance.

A way to showcase my own links and presence across the web, and what I have done in the past. It's outdated now, with depricated links and domains. If I get this done after over two years since leaving it off, it'll be current at the time it gets finished (and probably only then).

Showing off how and what (only what works so far) with this project. The logic of how it works in Construct 2 (a now outdated program) is a bit tedious to deal with, but the concept is there and given enough time working on this, should eventually be in working order and published online somewhere.

Found this painted shellac record (circa 1934) at a thrift store in town that's closing down soon. www.discogs.com/master/20360...

Photo of a starry night sky, looking upwards from below, with a full moon and trees encircling around the centre of the shellac record that it was painted on.

Photo of the reverse side of the record, His Master's Voice (HMV) / Victor label:

Vilia (From the film "The Merry Widow") (Hart-Lehar-Stothart). Jeanette Macdonald. Soprano with Orchestra. Conducted by Herbert Stothart. 24729-B.

The piece of the record has cracked off and been glued back together.

I had a doctor's appointment today and I have my next infusion in an hour. Both are in the same building, just down the hall from one another. Makes getting and being there that much easier.
