Hi everyone, I love giving talks on community building - and want your voices in it. If you build or take part in tech communities (free time or work), I'd love to hear your experiences! It takes ~5-10 min and is anonymous 👉 forms.gle/Qmcez89xxMsA... Thank you! 💜

Hi there, I'm giving talks on community building and would love to include real voices from the people who make it happen. The best insights come from those who build and are part of tech communities ...

If you know overviewR, you may have also heard of overviewpy. If not, let me introduce you to it :) When working on overviewR, it opened me so many (learning) doors. Understanding the language a bit better, trying things out and building a tool that could be helpful for the community. #rladies

After a bit of tinkering, my "gallery" got a small facelift. I'm so happy how it turned out! I also wrote a (very) short reflection on the process and how I got there. Why very short? Because it didn't take too long and was surprisingly straightforward! cosimameyer.com/post/updatin...

It's been a while since we last updated {overviewR} but it's officially updated on CRAN! 🚀 If you want to learn what's new, here's a short summary: cosimameyer.com/post/newest-... In a nutshell: - Export tables as markdown - Proportional Venn diagrams - More flexible plot colors #rladies
Two circles in different blue shades with the sames “Data set 1” and “Data set 2” where data set 2 represents a subset of data set 1.

Artificial intelligence is shaping our world, but how do we ensure it aligns with human and moral values? Here’s a short review of “Moral AI” which addresses these and other questions: cosimameyer.com/post/moral-a... #MoralAI #AIethics #Ethics #ResponsibleAI
Photo of the book “Moral AI” by Jana Schaich Borg, Walter Sinnott-Armstrong, and Vincent Conitzer. The cover has a red background with white and black text. It features an illustration of a sliding puzzle with a partially completed image of a person’s face, symbolizing the complexity of moral AI. The book is part of the Pelican Books series.

I played around with some functionalities of the @rladies-bot.bsky.social and @pyladies-bot.bsky.social to improve the blog post promotion. Using Gemini, I had a setup up and running in ~30 minutes. If you want to try it out yourself, here's my step-by-step guide: bit.ly/embed-gemini #python
Image showing the architecture of the bot. The bot's backend resides in a GitHub repository. GitHub Actions serves as a CRON trigger, running on a regular schedule. The CRON trigger activates a Python script named "promote_blog_posts.py". The script gathers RSS feed content from an RSS metadata pickle file containing basic information. Using the RSS feed text, the script interacts with Google AI Studio, where the Gemini API is connected. The script instructs the API to summarize the text and returns the summary. The script combines the title, author, hashtags, link, and summary to create a social media post. The post is then automatically published on Bluesky and Mastodon.

PySky, what is your favorite automated documentation tool? Investigating to round out the docs of an internal platform I'm working on, and want something a bit more detailed than just a docstring-generated list of methods and inputs. One thing I'd like is class diagrams of derived classes #python

Sometimes, a simple form does the job better. Let’s build more alarm clocks and less automated window knockers!
