My trolling motor caught someone's left behind fishing line as I got in the water last weekend. The symptom was slightly slower speed and the cable melting near the battery. Completely invisible until I took the blade off. At least it was an easy fix.

Using 3d printed poker chips with laser engravings as a giveaway / business card has been a decent success so far.

Booth was supposed to have some more room but that's ok. Dragons seem to always be what sells at local shows. But I get to show off my own creations too. Hamvention 2026

I think I need more printers. I KNOW I need to do some plastic cleanup 😂

Something I'm working on. Takes a DeWalt power tool battery and steps it down to 12v 5a leads. Just about finalized the design. Way way way too many test prints 😅

Another custom hat in the books! Laser-engraved patch on a black Flexfit. It's always a fun process seeing these come together for small businesses.

Working with a new leatherette material for hat patches. Haven't heat pressed it on yet but I think it looks pretty good.

I was curious how much bigger of a crystal dragon I could print on the H2S vs my old P1S. Am not disappointed, over 3 feet!

This cracked me up. A part I designed (carb air filter adapter) got banned from this one track. They made some funny claims about the performance. On 4 dynos and 7 motors it always added 10-13 horsepower. The day after this ban, we sold more than any prior day.

I recently revised a design for a storage container to instead work as a storage solution for gears. 5 sets per box, and since it's based on a standard grid they're stackable. Turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Been printing a good while now but I still love the articulating dragons, cliche as that may be.

Nevermind the mess. Made this template for my xtool f1 slide so I can engrave 7 metal business cards at a time, which is nice. Just some simple tabs to hold it together, since it's longer than what I can print.

Random silverware holder for split sink. Didn't like the ones on makerworld, because knives would fall through the slits. Made the circles 5mm so chop sticks also wouldn't fall through.

Also my first lure prints great. I ended up throwing away the idea of having a lip to make assembly easier and instead made a clamp... "Die?" I guess? I put each half in their side (the eye socket is press fit), some dabs of CV glue and clamp shut. Much better than the clumsy rods.

Published my first STL, world's simplest model. Needed a 3 prong to 3 prong adapter for a GoPro mount. Yay SolidWorks classes being put to use! discord.com/channels/@me...

...the slots into only one side for the eyelets. With the lip it would allow me to spread epoxy around, slot one side into the other and clamp them to cure

I'll go back and grab the screenshots from the dowel version. I had some spare metal wire I had sized the holes for. This all gets epoxy'ed together so they were intended really just for lining up the part. I was trying to add a tiny lip on the seam all the way around on one side...

Trying to figure out a better way to 'mate' the two halves of my part. Dowel rods work but are quite cumbersome. I'd *like* to use a lip brim around everything like this, but results in a lot of floating regions during print which makes me a sad panda

I am very happy with the hat pressed result. Also figured out why the colors didn't turn out quite perfect, though I actually like the misprint for myself.

A while back I made these minion models. Since then I made a couple for local businesses with the front pocket replaced with their business logo. I love the pictures they've been posting!

I've been taking the solidworks class we talked about. Most of it I'm getting, but the hardest part is understanding what the drawings they want me to recreate even want. My brain doesn't compute that these are the same thing.

Right? If I straight up turn off supports it says that'll be 5 hours to print. Compare that to the left one *with supports* says it'd only be 4.5 hours. I guess it's because of the longer lines rather than the stop and go. Might just try a test print of it overnight and see. Only 10g diff too.

Trying to make a non-solid side for some tiered lazy susans. Completely solid works great but wanting to save filament and print time if I can. The one on the left of course will require supports. Not ideal. On the right is less filament but significantly more time to print. And it wants supports.

So I had made this minion for the contest @bambulabglobal.bsky.social @makerworld.bsky.social was running to reuse empty spools, but a work trip prevented me from finishing it prior to the deadline. So I swapped the spool parts with normal and here it is all done. Diet pepsi for scale.
