I remember these things in the late '90s, early '00s. They were riddled with adware/spyware 😂. Also completely useless then too, but really cool and fun to play with. Glad we can get these things without the adware/spyware 😁

My kids (and wife) can see my location in Google Maps, and I can see theirs. It's an entirely voluntary thing, and they know it. They don't owe me their location information, and I don't owe them mine.

I for one appreciate that they enabled by default a "preview" feature that means if you're trying to use the functionality BUILT IN to the shell they ship, it doesn't work because it decided you meant some random file somewhere instead of tab completing like it's done for a decade.
