For 8,744th time: - No rule against stealing signs, so entire "scandal" boils down to HOW Stalions stole signs and just that he did so; - Well documented other teams stole and shared Michigan's signs, so M had no competitive advantage; - Stalions' only actual violation was moonlighting for CMU.

I’m sure the coaches have some rationale for it. But it’s difficult for me to imagine he couldn’t play, say, 50 snaps. It’s not like he’s a 320 lbs DT. And the guy behind him (Cam Brandt) is really just a guy. Poor run defender and no real pass rush chops.

For some strange reason Derrick Moore is only getting about 35 snaps per game even though he’s far and away the best edge on Michigan’s defense. I guess they are trying to keep him fresh but it’s annoying to see other guys in there when opposing offenses are driving.

Some college FB players were lifting at my gym this am. Saw one guy deadlift 495 lbs--first time I ever saw an Olympic barbell sag in real life. But here's the thing--I've used the same plates, and they have played against guys now in NFL, so my weight plates are one degree of separation from NFL.

One night in college, a guy I knew suddenly started kicking a recessed light. "Why are you doing that?" He didn't really answer. He just kept on kicking until the light was broken and dark and utterly destroyed. Years later I deleted that guy from my social media accounts for being MAGA.

The impoundment mess today is all about the President trying to take Congressional spending power. The stories of program impacts are important but the real issue is that power. If Trump can wrest control of appropriations from Congress, he can coerce nonprofits, universities, local govts. etc

I've had a monthly subscription to a language school in Medellín and had daily conversation practice since 2021. Many of the teachers are friends and it's enabled me to achieve a very high level of Spanish fluency. If Trump f*ks this up, I might finally just leave the USA for good.
