Today's @thestar.com has a feature on Page A15 about a group in Toronto that meets monthly to keep the art of letter writing alive. Hmmm. Could that be a #LdnOnt thing too?

I feel sorry for former colleagues at Conestoga whose lives have been upended by the ambitions of a president who tried to build an empire on the backs of foreign students. Just as culpable are a compliant board of governors and timid senior execs. And Tibbitts is STILL president. #WaterlooRegion
The front page of today's Waterloo Region Record screams "Conestoga in Chaos." There's a secondary story about more full-time faculty layoffs along with dozens of support. The main photos shows a provincial union official addressing faculty via a video link.

When I taught religion at a church school in the late 1970s, my Grade 11 students were always rapt when I relayed the events of Jan. 21, 1525, in Zurich. I wondered if I'd see the 500th anniversary of #Anabaptism. Yet here we are. The courage of those young men still amazes me.

This morning's front-page photo in the London Free Press by Mike Hensen, of two grandparents walking their grandkids home from school, is like a holiday card to the community. #LdnOnt #snow #photography #weather #wx
An adult, followed by two children, ages 3 and 5, and another adult trudge through deep snow on the way home from school. They pass snow-laden evergreens, while, in the background, there is a two-storey home. It is snowing heavily, giving the image a foggy appearance. The adults are Peter and Nancy Cookson; their grandchildren are Kirby and Maxine.
