Hot and cold. Loaf on couch or task spree. I was on a roll, and had all but a lonely half blob of lasagna-esque ricotta with red sauce tubbed up when I realized I had taken zero pictures 😅

A nearly empty aluminum pan with bits of red sauce along the sides and bottom. A red plastic Campbell's ladle and gray plastic spatula lay in the pan with their handles sticking out. In one corner is a half square of lasagna pasta with no melted cheese on top, just a pool of red sauce with flecks of ricotta. Bits of pork sausage poke out of the pasta.

Kids can be "taught" to print a lot of ways if the teacher is busy enough! Cursive helps situations like that because it doesn't have stroke order but letters are shaped in the same order as printing for the most part & that can carry back to how they print.

*I finally picked up some gloves for cutting jalapenos the weekend of the elephant grindr. There was an L missing from their podium, and one where it shouldn't have been on the gloves. Hence they are the Dallas gloves.

Kids who struggle to print are part of why we have cursive. There are tons of older adults like that too, who always need large print just a tad bigger than the thing in front of them, and yet their longhand is practically microscopic.

Borrowed recipes are cursed knowledge. They change. The original version changes. Or is simply gone. The temptation grows to return just once, just to find out how far it has strayed. You can't. They belong to a time that no longer is.

Korean beef. Sub pork. Sub veggies (mine has cucumber cubes and cauliflower and green pepper and onion). I remember when this sauce was brown, and not translucent reddish brown. An hour away, but you can't go back home.

Borsch with beet, carrot, onion, cabbage, green pepper, and pork. Everything but the cabbage somewhat has been stained by the beets. Once upon a time, this was a fixed recipe based on something from long ago. I don't need to ask if she's gone.

Boiled coke with lemon and ginger. Well, RC cola and lime now. I have no idea who did this, aside from it probably being one of his Hmong buddies from work. I miss lemon. It gets the job done but those rinds taste so much worse.

They would, never mind that their mileage info etc from every oil change is undoubtedly getting logged and sold. Texas EV renews are $200 more. Texas is big and obsessed with pickups so electric still pays less. And gas tax isn't even a percentage like sales tax. It's per gallon & set 35 years ago.

Sometimes the tax system fails. This is how worn out roads that justify pickups happen. Also, conversion grants > credits. Credits, esp nonrefundable ones, leave out a lot of people. Plus Ford etc actively work to keep new EV's unaffordable for most. Conversion install grants would bypass that.

TX has one. Their gas tax hasn't changed since the year Shiny Happy People by REM came out. EV renews are still a bit less than what a pickup contributes. Reintroducing road maintenance as an updated across the board registration fee would make funding more predictable as the shift continues.

More and more EV drivers not paying their share is the path to either not having road money or a shrinking pool of gas drivers not being able to afford to and also not having road money. Bottom line is that EV drivers need to start paying for what they use at some point.

It needs to be a "suspension" right now so Super Duty won't decision make based on a permanent shift. In the long term, people who pay zip in gas tax to recharge will need to help pay for roads too. Gas tax is rapidly becoming outdated and may not even be relevant by the time the economy recovers.
