Timeline synchronicity. FWIW I think a lot of "AGI is here/almost here" sentiment is from (subtle, subconscious) ELIZA effects. Then again AGI has to be possible unless souls are a thing.

Two adjacent posts reskeeted into my timeline. The first skeptical that LLMs will imminently replace all human research and expertise. The second from someone whose LLM, running some long job, noticed the laptop battery was low, then, apparently on its own initiative, finagled a way to loudly speak "please connect the charger".

Saw a car today with license plate RO@D$T*R, I think it was a Plymouth Prowler.

Rear view stopped in traffic of an unusual silver car, NC plate RO@D$T*R. After seeing it from the side later and googling some pics, I think it's a Plymouth Prowler.

Today's Fuck Intuit: using the Free File Fillable Forms(tm) site they made for IRS. They make it intentionally difficult, I always get some inscrutable error the first pass. I miss the real IRS efile from last year that they killed already. This year's error:

Finished winter storm prep but I am out of spoons.

My silverware drawer, well-stocked with forks and knives but devoid of spoons. Storm prep has left me too busy to empty the dishwasher. I was about to chill with a nice ginger water, but must first empty the dishwasher so I can mix it up.

Weekly shopping usually gets a Queen song stuck in my head, because my last stop is my local Harris Teeter, who actually keeps Moët et Chandon in a pretty cabinet.
