That being said, we linked variables and words! Right-click a word to link it to a variable. Hover over E, and “energy” lights up in the text. And the other way around.

Most people read E=mc² as “E equals m c squared.” It means energy equals mass times the speed of light squared. A lot of math is written for people who already know what the letters mean. We’ve been trying to fix that in our docs, starting with the letters.

3. Text and math shouldn't feel like two different documents. Right-click a word, and it becomes a variable

2. Leaving the doc to convert a unit costs more than the conversion. So it happens in place now

Writing math on a computer is full of small stops. Three of them are gone this summer: 1. You almost never need the whole derivation. You need one step out of forty, fold the rest

Math became a thing for people who can code, we don't think it has to be

It wasn’t intentional at first, but most of our recent releases ended up solving the same kind of problem. Fewer tabs, fewer copy-pastes, fewer places where your train of thought gets interrupted. Here’s what changed ⬇️

You are using the same variables over and over. It’s nice when the document remembers them.

Nice not having to keep a YouTube video, a paper, and your notes open side by side anymore. You can now embed them directly in Corca.

Corca raised a $7.8M round led by NEA, with NVenture, Daft Capital, and others! We're on track to democratize math for everyone. You don't need to be "good at math" to start. We started with natural math editing, and now AI explains and helps you along the way. Now, back to work!

Most math-heavy work is trying things, getting stuck, changing the model, asking questions, realizing you were solving the wrong problem. It’s also notes, calculations, simulations, graphs, AI conversations, and half-finished ideas. We think those things belong in the same place.

You can just type matrices in Corca directly from the keyboard. Shift+Enter adds rows. Shift+Space adds columns.

Type “integral,” get ∫(x)d(x). That’s basically it.No backslashes or commands. You just type, and it turns into notation. That's the entire learning curve.

Hints are taking care of the mechanical math — evaluating sums and products, factoring and expanding expressions, working with matrices, computing statistics, and using variables defined earlier in the document.

We haven’t posted here in a while, so let’s unpack what we’ve been working on over the past few months, one by one. Automatic units. Add units to your variables once, and they carry through every calculation automatically. Set v = 10 m/s and t = 2 s, and distance comes out in meters.

We stopped writing text on paper years ago. But when it comes to math, we still use it. Not out of love for paper, just because typing math is slow and painful. Corca is as fast as paper, but can also CALCULATE.

Text is a string. Math isn’t. It grows in every direction into multi-line structures. That’s why people still do math on paper. We’re bringing that experience to computers. Corca is WYSIWYG math editor, and it's fast!

Big update! 🚀 Now, Corca not only lets you type math — it actively helps you with it. Just type an equation, and it will suggest the solution. It can solve equations, simplify expressions, and even tackle integrals. And this is just the beginning — more is coming soon.

Click the button in the right sidebar to add a table. Pro tip: press Shift + Space to add a column and Shift + Enter to add a row—the same shortcuts work for matrices.

We’ve finally added tables support! It’s still far from perfect, we have plenty of work to make them more useful. But at least you can now organize your data in tables.

Introducing Color Schemes! We believe color coding is important in math, just like in code editors. It makes equations easier to read and follow. But some prefer bright colors, others love the classic black & white look. Now, you can choose the color scheme you like!

PDF and LaTeX Export. One of Corca’s core values is interconnectivity—we don’t want to trap users inside our ecosystem. Today, we took a small step in that direction. You can now download your work as PDF or LaTeX ↓

We made symbols and letters bigger and shifted the focus to what actually matters in an equation. Larger symbols improve readability, reduce visual clutter, and make it easier to scan complex expressions. 4/5

Our main focus in the update was readability. We kept colors but made them lighter to improve contrast and reduce visual noise. We believe colors matter. Just like code editors use color schemes, math editor should use them too. This makes math easier to read and follow. 3/5

We just launched Mobile Editing! It’s not a native app yet—just a browser version. Editing isn’t perfect, and a few features, like matrix editing, aren’t fully functional. But we believe mobile editing should be as smooth as it is on desktop.

Now you can add a vector and a hat above the symbol. Type 'vector' or '->' after the node to add a vector. Type 'hat' or '^' to add a hât. You can also use the right panel to add them.
