I think it would be more fulfilling learning from the community. Instead of stackoverflow.com I have BGG and use YouTube for classes like I did for my programming language. This has me a little excited 😄 I’ll check out those people on YouTube! If it sparks joy I’ll look into game design books!

I’ve been making a recipe app for 5 years, the last 2 using AI. I just want a finished prototype but it’s definitely taken the joy out of it. I used to love solving problems but now all I do is brainstorm how this and that should look and function. Creative yes but I’m not learning anything :/

When the 75 remaining orcas here are killed for a pipeline and port expansion to the west coast, do the Vancouver Canucks change their logo? Or do we just explain to our grandkids that yeah, we used to have those here, but we killed the amazing, nationally emblematic creatures for short-term cash?

I haven’t played Carcassonne but it’s similar - tile laying in places that match but instead of placing meeples in one spot you’re moving your boat around in waterways. Scoring points for enclosing tiles. It’s solo or cooperative!

Botswana / Wildlife Safari was originally published as Flinke Pinke. This game is one of those 'painfully simple' Reiner Knizia games. There are five different colored chips, with six cards, zero through five, in each of the colors. The cards are dealt out, and then players take turns playing a card and taking any available chip. When one color has all six cards played on it, then the game is over, and players use the last card played in each category to value their chips. The highest total value wins
