I was out at the Delaware coast Friday with DNREC Secretary Greg Patterson to see the damage from the nor’easter and talk about what we need to do next. The dunes protected a lot of homes, businesses and boardwalks from even more damage.

ALS hits close to home for me. I’ve seen friends and family members impacted and devastated by this cruel disease. That’s why this past week was such a huge win. Senator Murkowski and I passed the Act for ALS through the Senate, extending critical federal funding for ALS research.

The companies building AI models know there can be serious risks. That’s why we need to protect the people inside these companies when they’re so alarmed by the risks they see that they speak out. My bipartisan AI Whistleblower Protection Act would do just that.

My faith calls me to welcome those facing persecution. I’m firm in my belief that we cannot abandon our Afghan allies who served alongside our troops and risk being targeted by the Taliban if they return to Afghanistan. I won’t stop advocating for them.

Let me make sure I have this right. Trump siphoned money away from our troops and gave it to DHS to fund his cruel immigration agenda. Then they took money from DHS... and used it to pay for a partisan political ad five weeks before the election.

Americans are struggling to afford groceries. Meanwhile, Donald Trump is feeding a dictator Squash Velouté and Sesame Crusted Sea Bass.

❌ Trying to shut down the free press ❌ Hijacking major companies by demanding government equity stakes ❌ Silencing dissent through a politicized justice system ❌ Purging the qualified civil servants for yes-men Trump doesn’t just want to meet with Xi – he wants to copy him.
Edited meme of Donald Trump copying Xi Jinping.

Who are the Houthis? And how are they making your gas more expensive? The answer, you won’t be surprised to hear, has to do with Trump’s disastrous war with Iran.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate the generations of Hispanic Americans who have helped build this country: its culture, its economy, its communities, its future. Nothing and no one can diminish their contributions.

Warsh is right. Trump’s reckless tariffs and disastrous war in Iran made this economy. Now he owns it.

American women are dying from ectopic pregnancies at a higher rate, with the sharpest increases in states with abortion bans. These preventable deaths are occurring because Republicans have made doctors too afraid to provide lifesaving care. We must restore Roe.

There are 550,000 @ncaa student-athletes in 24 sports across three divisions. All of them will benefit from the Protect College Sports Act's health care and scholarship guarantees—no matter what or where they play.

If a new data center is going to raise people’s electric rates, use up our water, and pollute, we don’t want it in Delaware.

The Fourth Amendment protects Americans from unreasonable searches and seizures. But you can’t assert your rights if you don’t know the government has accessed your private electronic records. The House passed my NDO Fairness Act unanimously to address this. It’s time for the Senate to do the same.

President Trump’s tariffs have already cost American families as much as $5,000 in some states, and his senseless trade war with Canada will only grow that number. @slotkin.senate.gov @shaheen.senate.gov @murray.senate.gov @klobuchar.senate.gov

Trump’s and Hegseth’s purge of experienced military leaders is mimicking China and weakening one of our greatest strategic advantages.

Funding for lifesaving medical research at NIH is not free money for Trump and Hegseth to raid as it pleases them. I join with colleagues in my disgust at this move.

Trump is doing Putin’s work for him: weakening America’s alliances and dividing us from NATO while our adversaries come closer together.

Workers built America. Unions helped build the middle class. This Labor Day, we honor the Delawareans who get up every day, do the work that keeps our communities running, and deserve to share in the prosperity they help create.

Trump is now claiming the trade deal with Canada that he himself negotiated is “terrible” and a "rip-off." American families and small businesses in Delaware and across the country will pay for it.
2166
Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 03/09/2026
Delawareans who will serve in the Middle East deserve a president who respects their service enough to tell them what this war with Iran is for and why it is essential to our country.

Another day, another story about food contamination and recalls. I’m tired of it. You’re tired of it. It’s time for this administration to be held accountable for failing to keep food safe.

That “terrible” trade deal with Canada that Trump has been claiming is a rip-off? He’s the one who negotiated it.

Secretary Hegseth lacks the depth, skill, and experience to lead the Pentagon. At a time when America faces threats from Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, we can’t afford the failed leadership we have right now at the Department of Defense.

It’s written in plain text: Project 2025 called for the killing of wild horses to make money off our public lands. Now, they’re doing it. Protecting animal welfare shouldn’t be partisan.

Older Americans could see higher prescription drug costs next year because the Trump administration is cutting the subsidies that help keep Medicare drug premiums affordable. They have money for war, but not for the medications seniors rely on.

The Trump administration’s mistreatment of US sailors and their families is appalling. Our servicemembers deserve better.

Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 21/08/2026
Trump has made attacking the free press a hallmark of his presidency, from shaming reporters in the Oval Office to using the DOJ to go after journalists and their sources. We should all be alarmed by his escalating attacks on one of the foundations of our democracy.

Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 18/08/2026
Trump slapped tariffs on produce, and his war of choice with Iran has raised the cost of fertilizer for our farmers and growers. Now, grocery costs are driving American families into debt because of Trump's disastrous policies.
1169
Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 17/08/2026
How are these servicemembers supposed to stay focused on keeping our nation safe when the government they work for is trying to deport their parents and siblings?

When sailors are talking about jumping off an aircraft carrier, it’s clear that conditions on board have deteriorated to an alarming level, and this administration simply won’t listen to what our service members are telling us.

President Trump says companies whose executives donated to his own campaign are now making too much money. Meanwhile, he and his family have made billions off the presidency. He promised to drain the swamp. Instead, he’s wallowing in it.

Let's be clear about what happened here: this administration tried to send an innocent man to prison for ten years, purely to soothe the president's ego.

Of all the many reasons I’m voting NO on Todd Blanche’s nomination, this one is most important.
12110
Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 05/08/2026
President Trump has turned the presidency into a family business and is making billions in ill-gotten gains. The blatant corruption is harming our global standing at a time we need it most.

Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 04/08/2026
Todd Blanche oversaw the disastrous rollout of the Epstein files and led a redaction process that focused more on protecting President Trump than delivering justice for Jeffrey Epstein’s victims. The AG should defend victims, the American people, and the Constitution, not just one man.

Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 04/08/2026
Blanche presided over one of the most corrupt actions of the most corrupt administration in history—its $1.8 billion weaponization slush fund to pay off J6 cop beaters and reward his political supporters. He’s not fit to be the nation’s top law enforcement official. That’s why I voted against him.

Every dollar spent on Trump’s disastrous war in Iran is money that could be lowering health care costs, feeding our children, and supporting families here at home. What else could we have gotten for the tens of billions of dollars this war of choice has cost?
0199
Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 03/08/2026
An alarming new report shows that the average Delaware household has paid more than $3,000 extra since President Trump took office. You deserve an economy that works for you. Instead, you're paying the price for Trump's failed agenda.

Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 30/07/2026
I try to meet with every cabinet-level nominee as a courtesy, including Acting AG Todd Blanche. He still can’t explain his mishandling of the Epstein files or his refusal to fully shut down President Trump’s billion-dollar weaponization slush fund, and I’m still a no on his confirmation.

Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 28/07/2026
Trump's war in Iran is back on, so gas prices are going back up. Delawareans are paying upwards of $4 a gallon as a consequence of Trump’s senseless and costly war.

The ROAD to Housing Act includes my bipartisan bill to help more families turn a housing voucher into a home. We made real, bipartisan progress to make housing more affordable, but @warren.senate.gov is right: we can't stop now.

Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 22/07/2026
Trump's disastrous war in the Middle East has weakened our security and somehow given Iran more leverage. It's time for the administration to come clean with the American people about what we're doing in Iran and how this is going to end.
1189
Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 22/07/2026
Pete Hegseth is more focused on winning culture wars than combating real threats to our troops, and 18 American servicemembers are dead. Now he’s asking for $87 billion in supplemental funding when he has no plan for Iran and no answer on counter-drone defenses.
43213
Senator Chris Coons @coons.senate.gov · 22/07/2026
The biggest housing bill in 30 years is now law—and it includes my bipartisan bill with Senator Kevin Cramer to cut red tape, bring more landlords into the Housing Choice Voucher program, and help more Delaware families turn a voucher into a home.

The American people deserve honesty about the costs of this war. The Pentagon’s unwillingness to provide that to us should alarm us all.

South Korea is a key ally and partner, and strong partnerships require fair treatment for U.S. companies. I urge the Korean government to resolve this issue and work with the U.S. to strengthen our trade and investment ties.
