I'm sure my brain is adrift in a sea of days. Which is fine. Yes, it is Saturday, but it doesn't feel Saturday-ish. Monday probably won't feel Monday-ish either. Christmas day being on a Thursday felt like a Sunday and Boxing Day felt like a Saturday. Um. This morning I had a lovely chat with...

I don't often step outside my liking for plain 'builder's tea' - strong, with milk, 2 not sugars - but I treated myself to a mixed pack of Twinings chai teabags. Vanilla was nice, quite relaxing, but today was Gingerbread Spice. Good lord. That is just delicious. Steeped for a good 5 minutes mind!

I have been watching/listening to a lot of Yungblud and Aerosmith this weekend. This has resulted in another round of 'I really must get more tattoos'. (And still loving the white bits in my hair.) I keep saying that, and never actually get around to booking a tattoo in!

"Prejudice...a word, which, in the mouth of the average American, describes a cowardice he has not the courage to fix." Replace 'American' with person. This came from James Baldwin, and today can be applied to all levels of bigots. Fear into hatred usually reveals a woefully uninformed being. #BBC

A Non New Year resolution: in addition to blocking every random follower I don't know, or who has no profile photo/posts, I am going to instantly block any man who decides to 'well actually..." me, even if they don't use those exact words. Man on the Internet Voice is quite easy to spot. [eyeroll]

I used to think that the BBC was a wonderful invention, because they've put so much information out there. Now they are hiding it. Yes, they do lots of fab stuff, but I DO NOT WANT PEOPLE THROWN UNDER THE BUS TO KEEP THE BBC. The BBC and JKR can now get in the bin. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

My 'Wiccan' bunting arrived. I'm in love with it. So much so I have ordered two more sets: Halloween and winter gothic. You know, just for every day. 😁

I ordered some nice Yule decorations from Etsy this week, to go on our cast iron fireplace. I can't wait for them to get here. I'm not sure they will ever come down, to be honest!

Just finished reading @paulcornell.bsky.social's The Gnomes of Lychford. I have to say a lot of it hit home, especially the accuracy about both the danger and the stupidity of a mob. Please to be reading the whole Lychford series, they really are most excellent. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074CFCSN...

When one writes about made up characters, is it usual to think and be a little concerned about how they're getting on when you've left them partway through a tricky conversation? Asking for a friend.

Boss and I have decided that the full moon is playing havoc with everyone. It's taken us 4 attempts to understand what someone's actually asking for. We even had to get a third set of eyes to look at it. It's not just us either!

I have been making a low carb flat 'bread'. Those of you with working endocrine systems, look away now. It's essentially grated mozzarella + egg + yoghurt + flavourings. Weird? It works for me. Today I'm using curd cheese, tahini, rose + orange blossom water. It smells divine. Time to bake!

FINE, Weather. I gave in, I wore a jumper for my walk this morning. Then as soon as I was back I was too hot. Yesterday it felt like it was time to read my beloved @nigelslater.bsky.social's Christmas Chronicles again, and now here I am wearing a T-shirt! View from my room last night. So clear.

We already knew it, but here's proof. The WI is OFFICIALLY BETTER than JK Mewling and her rabid cohort. I initially rated her, as she donated a lot of money to finding a cure for MS, but if I could, I'd give it all back and tell her to sling her poisoned hook. www.thewi.org.uk/about-us/wi-...?

Dinner inspired by Samin Nosrat's dinner. A BLT salad: lettuce, parsley, celery leaves & tomatoes all from my late blooming garden. Dressing: spring onions sautéed in bacon fat, with garlic, basil, paprika, tomato and lots of lemon. Crunchy onions courtesy of the corner shop.

I have invested in a new keyboard. I'm a little concerned it's too loud for home but the keyboard action is lovely and the stands bring it to the correct height. Plus, it's gorgeous and feels like it came from Space:1999.

A colleague just went to Berlin. She couldn't find 'proper tea' anywhere. They searched for 3 days. Even our Berlin office only had fruit or herbal. Is this a German thing? @yorkshiretea.bsky.social can you do a push to the German market? We have resolved to never leave home un-Tea'd.

Watching a crime series earlier and one of the team dies. Suddenly, on screen, and in front of her colleagues. As a TV shock tactic, it was impeccable. It took me a good few minutes to shake myself out of it. Bravo actors, bravo directors and team. My god. (No series name because spoilers.)

I've been listening to audio books to fall asleep to. I tried Miriam Margoyles, but she was too funny so my brain insisted I stay awake. Then I chose Miranda Hart's I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You and it is brilliant. Her voice is soothing, she's very amusing and sarcastic...
