Which company visited the EU Parliament the most in 2025-2026 ? British American Tobacco, with 154 visits, more than any other lobbying company. Philip Morris is also in the top, with 85. Thanks to @reclaimfinance.org for this great analysis, beyond declared meeting only.

Last week, the EU Court of Auditors published a report on illicit tobacco trade which flags major gaps in EU action. One thing got less attention: half of Member States and the EU Commission have made deals with the tobacco industry. Most are not public. The Commission's own were never evaluated.

Last December, Contre-Feu and STOP published a report on repeated, opaque contacts between the tobacco industry and the Commission's DG Trade. 👉 www.ombudsman.europa.eu/en/news-docu... Contre-Feu then filed a complaint with the Ombudsman to shed light on this and improve EU transparency rules.
