We (nearby) have Coopers, red-tail, red-shoulder, and once memorably a sharp shinned hawk. They mostly eat the Jane Warner Plaza pigeons though.
A hawk, perched on a house roofline, looks at the viewer with one eye. It has the remains of a small animal in one claw.

It truly does.
An old cut glass bottle sits on a table with a grey and white baroque patterned tablecloth. In the bottle are purple and white sweet pea flowers, a white delphinium spike, a peach rose, and a white dahlia with light purple tips.

Always a favorite, and it does seem to be very portable for museum visits. It came to SF Legion of Honor in 2021 (so of course I paid an old friend a visit)!
A woman in a cloth mask takes a selfie in front of a Pompeiian mosaic depicting a skeleton holding two wine jugs, installed in a wooden frame on an orange wall at the San Francisco Legion of Honor Museum.

Th SF Conservatory of Music, a 12 story (unfortunately very modern) building that houses some 400 music students.

Dear SF art Bsky: this random steam chimney has been at the corner of second and market for six months. Please help make it more interesting.
A dented, white painted metal tube of a steam chimney of steams gently in the bike lane of a San Francisco street. A sloppily spray painted tag that looks like a cocoa pod drips down the side.

On mobile, long tap somewhere to drop a pin, the swipe up on the drawer? (I’m on iOS, but I have to assume it’s also available on Android)
A screenshot of the Google maps dropped pin interface with the “measure distance” button visible above some other tools

Oh this shows my street, and you can see Meeteer House! history.hartfordstreet.online/buildings/ma... That was demolished to build the theater. So it's a decent landmark.

I mean… water moves around some. Especially if this was over years and not describing the same year, I’d expect some jitter.
A map of the historical courses of the Mississippi River dated 1944, above a satellite picture of the same place dated 1999 showing the real color outlines of those lost water tracks.

Okay so this gets better. Along with the Ghurka spectator seat stick, there was also a Louis Vuitton waxed cotton monogram umbrella, and in a $10 junk lot, this 1872 sewing machine.

At some point I realized that I was seeing the same damn "popular tweet" again and again no matter how much I dismissed it. Then I realized that there was literally NO content from people I followed. Right, gotta toggle "Latest Tweets" back on.

If you don’t believe me here’s the close up. I thought it was expansion foam at first but it is bigger every time I go by. There are DBI complaints about the building going back to 2008 and ramping up in 2018.

ContextSans @contextsans.bsky.social · 05/06/2022
This apt at Page & Divis is more decrepit every time I go by. Now it has a football size jelly fungus. There’s a litany of DBI complaints, & I recall the “this building does not comply with the soft story retrofit law” signs until the owners took them down.

Lady Windermere’s Fan as the closing number of the @sfsilentfilm was wonderful. I was concerned about how a SILENT movie would adapt the biting wit of Oscar Wilde’s prose, but I shouldn’t have.
