He's implementing neoliberalism to benefit the ultra-rich 1%. Protecting Canada and Canadians wellbeing was never his goal. Mass public pressure might reduce the damage. But nothing he says or does should ever be trusted. Any positive outcomes will either be coincidences or the result of pressure.

If I were in charge I would prioritize building a nationalized/gov owned cloud service to undercut these monsters, no matter how unrealistic and difficult. Soooo much of your money goes to these American tech giants. Sooo many Canadian businesses and jobs are dependent on them, too.

FWIW, Austria's military got rid of MS Office over the course of about three years; 5 years from risk identification to full transition. They ID-ed MS as a security risk in 2020, began a volunteer pilot project in 2022, finished the transition in September 2025.
