Beautiful #SilverLakeProvincialPark. Páp-loshe-ka #SilverLake. I’ve been on top of both of the peaks more than once, trail access up a gnarly 4WD road on the other side! St’ám’ya #HopeMountain on the left, Wells Peak on the right.
A lake with small ripples and a gravel beach lead to a point with deciduous and evergreen trees. On the far lake shore, a slope of evergreen trees is topped by massive rocky peaks walls of Hope Mountain (left) and Wells Peak (right)

Thanks @scottdenkers.bsky.social for the home improvement project yesterday! Cooper was “helping,” of course.
A nook near the door to our garage with a vinyl floor covering and a pair of shoes below the coats on hooks. A large tan and white coonhound sits behind Scott who is on his knees with a drill nearby placing boards to make a shoe rack in the same nook. The completed shoe rack has three slatted removable shelves made out of trim ends from our door and window trim. The shelf with shoes on it.

Memories of seeing the world all around from place you were carried by your own two legs. 2008 #MtFrosty #ManningProvincialPark
A woman in a khaki shirt and shorts stands in a rocky summit. There is a brown pole at the summit with words too small for me to read while typing these notes. Rocky snowy peaks can be seen in the background as far as the eye can see. The sky is blue with faint streaky clouds.

A winter scene of a pond and mountains. A sandy bank is in front and a partially frozen pond with a large rock in the open water to the left. The far shore is lined with a mix of naked deciduous trees and evergreens. Memories of a recent retiree: February 13-16, 2012 I flew to #thunderbay then drove to #marathon and worked with the Pic River First Nation. Grateful for the opportunity to see so much of Canada as part of my work, even though it often included winter travel. Rental car in a snowstorm, ugh!
Statue of a man with one prosthetic leg running. This is Terry Fox, a Canadian hero who raised awareness and money for cancer care and hopes for a cure. Thunder Bay, Ontario. Sunset over Lake Superior. An orange sky is above purple hills on the far shore of a partially frozen lake. There is an evergreen tree in the foreground and a snowbank in the lower edge of the image. A grey sky floats above a stormy Lake Superior with waves approximating breakers at the ocean. Snow lines the beach and the hillside in the lower left. Evergreen trees are at the top of the hill on the left and an evergreen tree-covered point sticks out into the left. A tall hill rises above a snow-covered frozen bay. A few trees, one evergreen and the others bare branches, are silhouetted against the snow. The sky is grey.

Yesterday’s 🦮. Forever grateful for the beauty in our little town of #hopebc 🇨🇦
A paved street leads toward a view of mountains. A huge mountain covered with evergreen trees is on the nearby horizon to the left. In the distance is a rocky crag with two peaks that has snow on top and to the right another peak with a light dusting of snow. Along the street are tall evergreens, a few leafless deciduous trees and some houses tucked away between the trees. Sun is shining on green grassy and mossy lawns in the lower right.

@beckyjlomax.bsky.social reminded me of good times hiking in Alaska. In 2001, I tagged a backpacking trip onto a business trip and a friend and I emerged from the backcountry on Sep 11. We did the only rational thing-we headed into the backcountry at #denalinationalpark until we could fly home.
A woman (me) in a puffy down coat (light green with black shoulders) stands on a hill with short grass in front of a huge snowy mountain- Mt Denali. It is morning and shadows highlight the contours of the mountain and the brown mountain ridge in front of the mountain. The sun is shining on my face. I am wearing black fleece pants and a homemade teal coloured fleece hat.

Another wonderful hike with a trailhead near town yesterday! #quarrytrail #hopebc 1) Qemqemó aka #MountOgilvie 2) south and east. St’ám’ya #Hopemountain and Stó:lō #fraserriver 3) Cooper enjoying the lush moss and sunshine 4) you know you live in a rainforest when the trees wear fuzzy sweaters.
A large tan and white coonhound hikes up a trail. Behind the leafless alders the rocky cliffs of a mountain can be seen. A view from a noisy track ridge above an abandoned quarry. The mountain in the left has snow and down the centre of the valley is the Fraser River. Some wisps of smoke can be seen. Another mountain ridge is on the right. There are evergreen trees on all the mountains and the slope below the ridge The same dog wearing a harness and a retractable lead lays on his back with his paws in the air in the mossy rock ledge. An evergreen tree is silhouetted against the sun. Its branches are covered in moss and the sun outlines the hanging moss with a bright green fuzzy outline.

A scene with brown water, dry grass on both shores, and a large mossy rock. A fir tree frames the left side and the naked trunk of a deciduous tree is on the right. A rocky slope and ridge with evergreen trees is in the distance. Turkey tail mushrooms are a striped shelf-type mushroom. These are brown with lighter concentric rings on a dark brown log with bright green moss. A large tan and white dog in a leash with a harness has his front feet up on a cedar bench. A man with his back to the camera stands on a viewing platform with new wood railings. Some of the railings are curved in the natural shape of the branch. There are theee wooden benches on the platform. The platform reaches out over water and there is a rocky cliff and trees mountainside in the distance.

A dog is in the lower left on the sunshine with a bench behind him on a ledge. In the the valley below is a neighbourhood in Hope, BC. Hope Mountain is in the distance, a tall peak with snow and evergreen trees. The sky is blue with wispy clouds. A lake can be seen through evergreen trees. Tall tree covered mountains are in the distance with snow capped mountains in the distance in the right horizon. The sky is blue with white clouds. The sun is behind mountains and clouds streak the sky. A river flows in fem the left below a ledge and flows onto a large river that enters from the right. A golf course is in the lower right. Buildings of a small town are between the 2 rivers. The sun sets over the town in a view a little south of the prior one. A ridge in the center is a dark hill with evergreen trees. Taller trees mountains are separated by a large river in the distance.

A man stands on an ocean beach where the sun is rising in an orange sky. Lava rocks and beach plants are seen in the foreground. There is a tide pool then breakers on a rocky shore and the sun rising amongst clouds in the horizon. A river scene with snow on the beach, ice along the shore, open water in the middle and more ice on the far shore. A mountain with evergreen trees and snow is in the distance. There are light grey clouds in the sky. A trail in sand curves along the left side on the bank of a river. Large sheets of ice line the shore. In the distance are 5 mountaintops of dark evergreen covered mountains with snow. Grey clouds are in the sky. The mountain on the left is St’ám’ya or Hope Mountain. At Punalu’u County Park the waves are rolling in against black sand and a rocky shore. The horizon is orange and grey clouds are in the distance with streaks of rain. Recent #dogwalks combined with #birding. Q’ówqèwem #kawkawalake had little ice, a view of Qemqemó #MountOgilvie and many coots plus dreams of swimming and boating in the summertime. Starrett’s pond had a lot of ice, many ring-necked ducks and a nice reflection of Islléleqw #Isolillockpeak
A boat dock floats out on a lake with a mountain in the distance. It is a hazy grey day. The mountain has evergreen trees on its slopes and rocky ledges with a little snow on top. Some houses line the far shore. The mountain is reflected in the mostly calm water. The boat ramp can be seen under the clear water to the lower left. The trail where photos were taken a few days ago on a sunny day across the lake can be seen on the lower left side of the mountain. A partially frozen pond reflects a two-topped peak in the distance. Some snow is at the top of the dark, evergreen sided peaks. The neat shore is sandy with sticks.
