Oh, and the bench thing. It happened at work, so I had to fill out an incident report. Now anyone who didn't already know that I am clumsy and make bad decisions has no doubt. If it had happened at home, I could live quietly and privately with my shame. But no. (At least no one *saw* me do it.)

I wish I could do the neti thing, but I have a deviated septum. I cannot even put my head underwater because I cannot keep the water out of my lungs. I *can* use a saline spray, however, and that helps. Which reminds me: go use saline spray. (I make my own, so it is not expensive.)

Boring, but you should be able to do it with a single roll of film. (From your photo, it looks like your lens is on a bellows? If so, is there a chance it is not fully extending when it is opened? That might throw off the focus.)

You might consider creating a calibration scale for the closer distances? Measure the distances shown on the ring, and then take photos with the range settings bracketed (say, 0.7m - 1m - 1.3m, 2m - 2.5m - 3m, etc.). Write down your settings for each shot and then compare with the developed photos?

I might feel a bit better today. Fewer aches and pains (except my back, but I *did* fall off and then onto a bench on Saturday, so that is not really illness-related), and my nose-blowing and lung-coughing-up functions have been more productive. Oh, you were eating when you read this? Sorry.
