so this impulse was close. Hegel talks about contradictory elements "founder[ing] to [their] ground." they in some way move back to a ground unreachable without this 'foundering.' when you say a contradiction it's sides trace back to their ground, one unreachable without this tracing back

need some sort of account of how the push by all institutions to collate moments into people works, whether it should, what to do with it, etc. thinking about writing that soon

it might help people get out early if they aren't dedicated enough to suffer for it in the way writers do. though i think there's enough of a reputation that people don't get into writing thinking it will be easy, so this all seems superfluous

final panel shows nancy looking behind the bushes but the text from r crumbs "lookit that stupid ass-hole!" meme panel placed atop it so that nancy is looking in disgust at sluggo saying
"I loathe ever person i see on the street! Lookit that stupid ass-hole!"
with text saying "normal guy" pointing at sluggo.
the whistling from the original panel has been removed and the whistling from the r crumb panel has been placed there instead.

surprisingly people still take me seriously academically, even though errors are easier there. i think this is an important element of my disbelief in identity over time. at any moment i can become a wholly different person by being told something about my live that shatters my self-understanding

i have a bad memory and everyone who knows me knows it. this means that nobody around me treats me like an epistemic authority over my own past. whenever memories conflict i am presumed to be wrong, but also i am presumed to be wrong even as the sole witness (unless it's low stakes)

i: - ran a read light, - almost rear ended someone, - swerved into the wrong lane, and - missed my turn twice, so PSA: when they tell you not to drive in emotional distress, they're right, and PSA 2: i'm a bad driver

she played a song off Landfall and i've felt like i need to cry ever since. that wasn't helped by the litany of succeeding very emotional things that happened, but that was the start of it

difference when you feel the difference. there is no need for nationalism, as your identity is the same as difference. you limit your identity by separating it from difference
010
connie @concon-clown.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
absolutely! immanent reflection on diversity requires recognizing oneself in the cultures of others because their specificity, their difference, is the same as your identity. there is no need to appropriate, as that presupposes difference held apart from identity. you already identify yourself with

moral discourse (which is to say moral discourse at all) in a palatable form. in this way they can preserve the hegemonic affective apparatus that they grew up with but can change the north star of it's formal justification

connie @concon-clown.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
most "left" fascists would steer clear of moral condemnation in these cases, as then one can argue, but instead retreat into what appears not to be moral — it's embarrassing, bad for the movement, unapproachable, etc. — and in this mode they fail to recognize that they reproduce hegemonic

adults have a truly unfathomable sense of entitlement to surveil, discipline, invade, and abuse bodies they regard as property, as lacking any real internal subjectivity, as having 0 right to privacy or autonomy of any kind.

"you see yourself in a snitch?" i see myself in everyone. there is nothing fundamental about me that separates me from the people i detest. it allows me to do this cool thing where i focus on the conditions producing behavior rather than pretend i have a better soul

objectivity becomes a worthwhile concern with this subject. her historical situation and the forces constituting her are most important, because all the objective is is a certain sort of the same things the whole of her is made of
110
connie @concon-clown.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
i prefer thinking that there are only objects insofar as they are objectified in some way, and this objectification is the status of objects of subjective experience. of course the objective is only as such in a subjective mode! but then the objective and subjective are not held apart, and

i know that none of the "anarchists" who are gleefully arguing for transcendent ethics care to read and so i don't need to argue with them. the thing i need to hold onto right now is my memory that there are anarchists who are not like these "anarchists"

"They do not see that in saying, '*Identity is different* from difference,' they have thereby already said *that identity is something different*." - Greater Logic, Essence Chr 2 A remark 2 (358 in the Giovanni).

this is why Hegel's logic needs to develop the apparatus for presupposition at the start of the essence section
010
connie @concon-clown.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
identity is always presupposed. to identify something with itself requires the very itself that the identification ought to provide. see also: unity, totality

i think we probably agree that the threatening thing is a trans politics that would liberate us, not merely our existence.
110
connie @concon-clown.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
it seems to me that anti-trans politics is not a response to the way any transness might threaten the system, but the way they the repression of transness sustains it.
110
connie @concon-clown.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
the best argument i've seen in Antioedipus thus far is that the fact of repression does not imply a desire pre-existing that repression. repression may exist to create objects and sustain something seemingly unrelated. similarly here i am not sure that this repression was rationally calculated.

when i'm feeling shy, i tend to see inconsistency and contradiction as produced through reducing the impulse to language. i have to be in a good mood not to simply displace consistency. actually endorsing contradiction outright is still difficult

we need to move so far beyond the critique of bio-essentialism. we can say more than that various cultural traits are not biological. biology is not fixed. what we are is plastic and explicit anti-nature politics recognizes this

perhaps my judgement is split by it's contact with language, but the split is at least there in a non-linguistic manner, even if still language-dependent
000
connie @concon-clown.bsky.social · 13/08/2026
is the subject-predicate split in judgement more than linguistic? when i get tired i will make complex pseudo-arguments and finally achieve (confused) validity for some judgement, but then as i hold it in it's glory the subject fades, with the predicate intact

call it stupid. by reifying personality as a prepolitical fact, Brennan here is engaging in the military act of assimilating behavior to some personal sovereignty and creating an outsider homogeneity subordinated to it's single heterogenous root point

byproduct of the gendering of victim statuses (an association that exists for obvious reasons, but is nonetheless heterosexual). similarly: women abusing women are masculinized. this plays into repeat victimization by feminizing victimhood and victimizing femininity.

it's important to learn slow introspective writing as well. sending that home so that kids can put it down and puck it back up later is important. one of my professors tried quizzing us in our own writing (summarize your arguments, etc.), but that's so much extra work
