It's not much, but it's #SC3K terrain, now visible during the automated test suite (used to verify that the decompiled code continues to match the original as it's slowly built up). Progress!!

Every cycle of the #SC3K decompiling does another chunk. Here, have a screenshot of what it looks like when it starts another piece. Then, it'll work for ~2 hours, depending on what blockers it finds and has to resolve. Gradually, we're eating through.

Update: it solved it; IDA began decoding an orphan GCC exception landing pad eight bytes too late, which produced a bogus instruction that made Hex-Rays fail with an empty error. The fix was to simply delete and rebuild the corrupted frame with the right size.

Turns out SimCity 3000 has a particularly complex audio subsystem! Over a thousand different routines. Way more complex than the audio in SimCity 2000, I can tell you that much.
