I decided I would paint another picture of a person so I made a reference by drawing over her original photograph. It's a little bit naughty though 😜 Here's what I got so far. I made this one a few years ago when my son was born. The trees I saw outside the window of the hospital room he was born in. The painting was made for him and I hope he keeps it when he grows up and moves out.

The painting is a colorful background with green and yellow on the right, orange in the middle and red, purple and blue on the left with some white splotches around the place. In the foreground is the silhouette of a pair of trees standing together with no leaves.

On a bright yellow/green background,there's two trees in the dirt. The one of the left has had a section chopped out and is barely connected to its stump while the one on the right has a broken section as well and is stuck in a pile of stones. Their branches are intertwined and holding each other up. Neither of them would be able to hold themself up without the other. In the background there is a faint hint of other plants and grass in the distance and at the top is the canopy of leaves. The trees have a reddish grey hue to them and the leaves are dark green with yellow highlights.

The final product of my space project. I decided on an earth-like planet and I finished up the background a bit too. I am totally satisfied with how this painting turned out. I think I'm going to call it "A New World" #art #paint #oilpainting #painting #canadianartist

The painting is just a black background with a few colorful spheres around the place with one big blue planet with a couple continents and ice caps like earth. The planet has some yellow and white highlights and a few thin indications of white clouds blended into the blue of the water. There's also some colour thrown around in the corners such as yellow, purple green and orange, blended into the black. There are also plenty of yellow- white spots where I flicked some paint thinner at the wet paint to create a star like effect. I have also added some white spots around to look like little stars around the whole canvas.

A current work in progress. something a little different for me but it will be interesting at the very least when it's done. I'm not sure yet if it will be a planet or a moon or even if the view will be from the the ground looking up or just out in space too.

So my inlaws are always buying me paint by the numbers sets, which is nice cause free canvas and stuff. I don't usually do the numbers thing so I am covering it up and it will be like a hidden piece under whatever I paint there. Plus I get to use their gift.

This picture is just a flattened out paint by the numbers canvas which I have covered in white paint to hide the numbers and lines. You can still kind of see them but I'll be putting another layer or two paint to cover it up before painting.

Here's another painting I made recently. Kinda felt a little lazy so it's not great or anything but I'm calling it "Lavender Grove"

The painting shows a blue sky with some thin clouds and birds in the air. There are tall dark trees in the distance that blend into the grass of the fields where there are a couple trees, a stone and a dirt path running through a patch of purple flowers in a fenced area. On either end of the path is a well and a little house. In the foreground is a hill covered in purple flowers like Lavender and a raised up patch with some grass.

I made this painting last night, it was a three hour project so a little rushed I guess. I call it "Decended."

A nighttime scene with purple as the main colour in the sky and for the water. There are multiple layers of grass and bushes with white and blue highlights getting brighter until they reach the water. There is a bright yellow and white light source right at the top in the middle with many rays of light passing down in front of the grass and bushes as well as through the leaves of the trees. In the foreground are two tall dark trees, one on each side, and bushes along the bottom with some of the light being reflected in the water. Comming down from the light is an angelic figure in bright white. There are also a few sticks visible in the bushes.

The scene is a blue afternoon sky on the left and a purple midnight sky on the right, separated by a tree in the middle with bright green leaves with some pale yellow highlights on the day side and dark green leaves with more white highlights on the night side. There is a large lake just beyond the tree. On the day side there are birds flying to the left from an island on the lake behind the tree, a bright sun in the corner and some clouds with golden highlights towards their top ends. There is a silhouette of a boat and a man on the boat just off the island beyond the mist around it. Next to the tree on either side are some bushes and grass, appropriately light or dark and highlighted the same way as the tree leaves. The daytime bushes have some yellow and orange flowers and the night time side has yellow fireflies around. On the day side there is also a visible whales tail and on the night side, the whale and man in the boat are gone however the boat is still there. There are also some clouds there with a dark purple trim on them and they are being pushed out by a darkness from the far side. In the trees trunk is a little hole with a squirrel popping his head out looking toward the night side. The tree is large and old with many branches and thick roots barely visible above the grass around it.

I made a bit of a different type of painting for this one in order to work on different skills. I call this one "High Stakes Game".

The painting is a dark brown and orange colour made to almost imitate a wooden wall and a square table with a green felt top. On it are some plying cards and chips from a game of poker. There is some blood spattered on two ends like a fight broke out involving some gunplay and a single hand hanging from the table as the person slowly collapses.

My new painting, number 12, titled "the sheep's field". I spent near 3 hours on it with nearly no breaks, I am very proud of this one.

The main colours in the painting are pink and purple. The sky and water are all light shades purple and pink. The mountains are a blue/green type of grey lined up one in front of the other from left to right. The clouds are mostly fluffy with dark highlights on the tops.in front of the mountains is a set of foothills with trees in a dark green separated by mist and then another row of trees in a lighter shade of green. Then there is a field full of little black and white blobs meant to be sheep with a Shephard, a line of bushes with flowers or fruit and finally a beach on a lake with a few rocks in it. Across the sky there are a few groups of birds. So.e just above the trees, some high over the mountains.

My latest painting which I have titled "My Little Ladybug", the ladybug is meant to look a little funky. S.B is an alternate name I have always put on my paintings. This was a 2 hour project, including setup, for my 3 week old daughter.
