My variant Issue 3 for Vault’s SOMETHING CRAWLED OUT

Eddie and Rainer standing in a mass of hellfire. The flames are raging around them but they’re standing calmly, looking to their side at you. Eddie lowers a hand down holding a cigarette. The flames form devil horns over both of their heads. They are both devils.

The finale of the series has Eddie and Rainer fully embrace the hell they’re in! Loved getting to draw their progression from humans to devils in a fiery hell with devil horn flames ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 I really loved the horns poking over the titling too.

2/4 The Devil’s in the details 🩸🩸 Throwback! The second of four covers I got to draw for Vault’s SOMETHING CRAWLED OUT 🪓🔥

My variant cover for Vault's SOMETHING CRAWLED OUT. Rainer standing in front of a wire fence, staring directly at you, his eyes glowing red. His expression is a mix of underlying anger and vulnerability. His hands are forming devil horns. Also behind him, hidden amongst the leaves is a horned devil tail.

3/4 The Devil’s in the details 🩸🩸🩸 Throwback! The third of four covers I got to draw for Vault’s SOMETHING CRAWLED OUT 🪓❣️

My variant cover for Vault's SOMETHING CRAWLED OUT. Eddie and Rainer standing with a wire fence separating them. The wire is twisted and breaking, uncovering Rainer's face. Eddie looks angry and is lifting a hand to the cigarette in her mouth. Rainer is calm behind her, looking over his shoulder. There's a beam of harsh light over them, revealing the blood on Eddie's hands and forming devil horns on Rainer's face.

1/4 The Devil’s in the details 🩸 Devilish throwback for the start of spooky month! 🪓❤️‍🔥

My variant for Vault’s SOMETHING CRAWLED OUT. Eddie glaring at you with a slightly manic look in her eye, accentuated by the harsh red light going over face. She’s holding a cigarette in her hand, blowing smoke from her mouth that trails upwards to create devil horns.

At this point, the violence is escalating and Rainer’s inner devil is truly breaking through. I loved taking the fence from Issue 2, and having it twist and break in this cover to show the increasing violence and madness.

So I drew Rainer forming ‘devil horns’ with his hands with his eyes glowing red. And then hidden amongst the leaves behind him, is a slithering horned devil tail! (Spot his friendship bracelet with Eddie and his initial's spelling out ER haha) 👀❣️

This cover plays with the question of ‘Is Rainer actually the devil? Or is it just baseless rumours from living in a small town?’

I loved this story so much. Eddie’s sister has gone missing and no one wants to help find her. Except for Eddie’s best friend, Rainer, who may also be the devil 🩸 As the story progresses, things get worse and worse, and both of them start to lose their humanity.

Icarus and the Sun 🌞🪶🕯️🪽 (I’m hoping to find time to finish the collection and draw a Medusa and Theseus and the Minotaur as well 💛)

My illustration of the Greek Myth Icarus and the Sun. This is the moment Icarus realises his doom due to his arrogance. He’s flying upwards towards the Sun, depicted as a woman’s face with sun rays as long trailing hair. His wings have large melted droplets of wax and feathers are falling away into the ocean below him. He cranes his neck upwards toward the Sun’s face, she is crying for him, their lips almost touch before his incoming death.
