glancing at my growing pile of art projects

2018 twitter post from user artyintheuk that's had some text edited over some of the original. it says "if I say I'm going to draw something and I don't it's not that I lied it's just that I failed"

letting my ambition get the better of me again lol, working on a cover for a project i've been on-off detailing out for about a year or two.

a very rough sketch for the cover of something, showing a quartet of people fighting offscreen opponents while near a dune buggy car thing. one figure is a small woman with a pistol and an outstretched arm, likely using some kinda space magic, another is a robot with two guns (revolver and shotgun) and a duster and big cowboy hat, another is a giant man with a circular saw/axe thing and a gas mask, and the last is a woman with a rifle or shotgun crouched at the front. at the top is the title 'The Outlands'.

doing some concept work for an episodic kinetic novel series i'm aiming to work on soon. follows a group of mercenary/adventurers - the leader, Eden; the engineer, Risk; the mute psionic, Zero; the cyborg swordsman, Jake; and the ancestral robot/mech, Ton - taking contracts and getting into trouble

An illustration of four human characters standing in roughly neutral poses in empty space for the purpose of concept art.

The first one, the former-mercenary Eden, is a woman with curly hair partially tied up in a ponytail, and wears a short shirt, an open long coat, pants and tall boots, has a pair of pistols in holsters on a belt, and has a necklace that holds a multi-coloured five-pointed star icon.

The second figure, the engineer Risk, is a woman, taller than Eden and notably curvier, with long wavy hair worn loose, a lab coat that reaches her knees, a pair of jean shorts, a bikini top, and some work boots with normal socks. Her eyes are drawn closed, which will be her default state, but an example of her eyes as they are open floats next to her.

The third figure, the mute psionic Zero, is the shortest and smallest of the all of them, and has long straight hair that covers one of her eyes. She wears a long, closed, slightly robe-like cloak with a collar high enough to cover her mouth, and pants and shoes. Her visible eye faintly glows with latent power.

The last figure, the swordsman/rifleman Jake, is second-tallest, only barely taller than Eden, and has spiked-up somewhat short hair. He wears a basic singlet, rather wide and loose pants, and basic shoes. He has four arms, all of which are designed to look kind of like muscles but made of synthetic fiber bundles instead of meat - two of which sit under his main arms, and both are connected to synthetic pectoral muscle-like modules that cover his chest. His eyes are similarly synthetic, with glowing pupils and other details.

An illustration of five characters standing in neutral poses in an empty space to use as concept art. Four of them are covered in the previous image in this post, so their details are in that one

The fifth figure, which dwarfs all the others and is at least two and a half times as tall as any of the others, is the robot/mech Ton. They are a humanoid figure, standing upright, but has a vaguely dog-like head structure and has digitigrade legs also kind of like a dog. A large canister-like piece sits on their back, which houses their reactor, their left arm has a three-fingered clawed hand and a boxy energy weapon on the outside forearm, and their right arm lacks a hand and is instead a heavy-calibre cannon of some kind with a thick drum magazine embedded in the side. Their torso, large enough to fit a person inside, has a series of panels in the front to open up to the cockpit for any pilot, but this interior isn't shown. A couple of other panels sit on their shoulders, and their legs and back have vaguely triangular shapes jutting out to imply jump jets.

Next to their head is a redraw of the same head, but showing more details of the eyes, which have a disk with a large central lens and a ring of smaller lens surrounding them to represent other vision modes, and a bundle of cables leading behind where the sclera would be on a person's eyes. Both this and the standard drawing's eyes are glowing quite strongly.

Artist! Quote with your evil art 😱 (i haven't drawn much of that so these might be a bit of a stretch lmao)

Goblin necromancer raising an undead creature, a large skeleton with four arms and instead of a head or neck it has a ring of teeth

Wh40k fanart. Khornate daemon prince in vaguely Astartes-like armour, giant bat wings extending from its power pack, and with a wolf skull for a head. It has a sword made of bone with a molten lava core.

Fallen Angel creature from a dream I had. Tall woman with tattered bird wings dressed in rags and bandages, hands replaced with wicked blades. Hair is dishevelled and conceals, as shown off to the side, the seven eyes she has.

Two panel Wh40k fan comic, starring my homebrew Drukhari Archon and notorious shitlord gremlin, Vaaki Corundak, and canon Archon Aestra Khromys, using the design made by artist JetBlackRaider of whom I'm QRT'ing. The two are sitting at a table, enjoying some tea.

Panel 1: Vaaki holds up a mug, looking quite happy, and says 'Damn, Aestra, this tea is bangin'!'. Aestra holds her own small teacup, eyes closed as she seemingly enjoys the company.

Panel 2: Vaaki slams head-first into the table, spilling her drink, quite thoroughly dead (she'll get better). Aestra remains where she is, but her eyes open slightly to look at Vaaki, and she smiles slightly more.

Draw your OC but small #tinyocchallenge ft. a fresh 10min phone doodle of cynthia

a small coloured sketch of my OC Cynthia Dresden (a kinda tall and gangly woman with pale skin, long wavy black hair, an oversized blue sweater, black leggings and knee-high brown boots) as a small simplified figure, shaking nervously.

If you see this reblog with a robot 🤖

A Genghis MkI "Worldkiller" from Lancer, modified slightly with a head segment closer to the MkII. It is painted mostly black with large straight-edged parts painted in red, and has some orange accents. It stands on a Command Rock, surrounded by flames, with an orbital laser strike beaming behind it, backlighting it. Drawn for a token for my first Lancer campaign.

A ochre-skinned goblin wearing a green lightweight mage outfit and a long tattered cloak, standing cross-armed and heroically, with a large mechanical summoned eidolon behind it. The eidolon is predominantly silver armour over darker steel mechanisms, with brass accents on its gorget and on a ring around a glowing blue core, the same glow emanating from within its collar and from one of its eyes.

A rougher sketch of a Necron Overlord, mostly in very dark grey with bright silver trim and blue glowing parts. He mutters to himself 'I need a nap and a Szarekh-damn coffee'.

Concept art for an alien race - the Naeem, a 'species' of AI cores that exist as cylindrical cores that are inserted into various frames and such. This one shows a Mk231 Exploration Frame, an approximately human-sized and humanoid frame, with a rugged industrial design, with the Core inserted into the torso. It also shows the core as a separate thing, highlighting its size of about 16" long with a 6" diameter.

quick doodle to shake the rust off hopefully didn't just wanna make another 'i'm tired/sad/out of energy' sorta vent sketch so i tried something a little different lol

a simple sketch of a person with long-ish hair lying down on their front as a bit of a blob. they have a simplified frustrated expression, and from behind their head a jagged hand slams into the ground as if to drag them forwards or bring them up. text above them reads "when in doubt, use spite as a motivation."

built two of the units - tormentors and noise marines. really happy with how they came together, tormentors have some really fun pose options.

A handful of Warhammer models, unpainted, from the recent Emperor's Children update. Ten Tormentors stand at the front, the front row with a whip-and-plasma pistol-armed Obsessionist, two Tormentors with Meltaguns, and two Tormentors with Plasma Guns, one of which has an Icon of Slaanesh on their back, and the back row all has Boltguns. Behind them stand six Noise Marines, two with Blastmasters, three with Sonic Blasters, and a Disharmonist with a Power Sword and a Screamer Pistol.

010

CommodoreSigma @commodoresigma.bsky.social · 16/03/2025

got at least one model built so far, Lord Exultant Dedan. Used a noise marine head on him to distinguish him a bit more.

$Photo of a built and unpainted Lord Exultant model from the new Emperor's Children range. This one is armed with a Phoenix Power Spear and a Rapture Lash, and is built with both a Noise Marine head instead of the two standard options for the kit, and one of the icon options (the small Slaanesh symbol) from the Infractor/Tormentor kit instead of the default option. The homebrew character this model represents is named Dedan, who is loosely inspired by the character of the same name from the game OFF.$
