Reports of Russian strikes on schools in Sumy and Kyiv, where pupils were sheltering in basements, are horrific. Such attacks highlight Russia’s continuing disregard for the distinction between civilian and military targets. #StandWithUkraine #Ukraine 1/1

I reiterate my call: all journalists covering the war should be protected and enabled to report freely and safely. Ukrainian journalists unlawfully detained by Russia must be freed. Ensuring the safety of journalists is essential to delivering the facts about the suffering that war is causing.

Almost nine years after the killing of Daphne Caruana Galizia, there is still work to do to ensure full justice and prevent impunity. Malta must continue its efforts to bring those responsible to justice. My thoughts are with her family in their efforts to demand justice and protect media freedom.
