No 38 #TroikaRPG (& "Wail" from #MÖRKTOBER ) inspired sketch ... a Sídhe Wight, bound to the Elf Kings gravesite as a perpetual keener (one who cries for the dead) - the only thing worse than the Kings ego was his sense of humour.

No 37 #TroikaRPG ("Effigy" prompt for #MÖRKTOBER ) inspired sketch, from my wip. Stumbling into a hrove, PCs find a mesmeric effigy, surrounded by several skeletons, all arrayed as if regarding the statue. PCs are at risk of falling in love & might refuse to leave the Grove.

A skeleton clings to an effigy of a fertility spirit, the skeletons head between the statues robust bosom. The effigy has a red jewelled lodged in its "navel". The label reads "Mesmeric Effigy". Inspired by my Troika RPG project and the "Effigy" prompt for #MÖRKTOBER.

No. 36 #TroikaRPG ("Fog" prompt for #MÖRKTOBER ) inspired quickie. As the fog rolls down into the valleys of the Carmine Palisades, a Mountain Giant can be glimpsed clomping up-slope.

Thick fog rolls down the forested slopes. An enormous figure looms out of the mist. It is bigger than the surrounding fully mature pine trees. Inspired by my Troika RPG project ... and also the prompt "Fog" from MÖRKTOBER 2026.

No. 35 #TroikaRPG (& "Cape" prompt fir #MÖRKTOBER ) inspired sketch on my phone. When the weather turns in the high mountain pases of the Carmine Palisades, all you can do is huddle up.

No. 34 #TroikaRPG (& "Marrow" prompt for #MÖRKTOBER ) shows a baby Green-skin being born as if eruption from an enormous, rip birthing marrow high on the forested slopes of the Carmine Palisades

A pointy eared, sharp toothed, baby green-skin emerges from an enormous knobbly marrow, which serves as its birthing pod. They must loose themselves from a tangle of red fleshy pulp. Inspired by my Troika RPG project ... but also the prompt "Marrow" for 2026 #MÖRKTOBER

No. 33 #TroikaRPG (& "Glyph" for #MÖRKTOBER ) shows a talented but treacherous magical apprentice (who may have caved his masters head in) attempting to cast a spell. He is all bells & whistles, while true mastery of the arts can be a subtler affair.

A man in black alb (marked with a ward to defend against the evil-eye), waves a wand in the air to describe a magical glyph for some spell while his other hands manipulates the Aetherick fabric itself. His pointed hat is blown back off his head in the initial release of pent up magical forces. A satchel containing his masters most forbidden spells hangs from one shoulder. No. 32 #TroikaRPG the Disassembled Prince. After failing to dethrone the King of the Elves, Prince Lhoris has been cursed. His seperated living organs & limbs are strewn across an isolated glade in the Carmine Palisades where his head lolls conscious & utterly bored. Also #Mörktober prompt 2 "curse"

No. 31 #TroikaRPG sketch is a Goat Knight, who traverses the mountain passes performing knightly deeds, on the basis that every deed a knight performs is, by definition, knightly, without having to worry about inconvenient concepts like "good" or "bad". Also serves as a prompt from #Mörktober.

No. 30 #TroikaRPG phone sketches is a giant tusked boar and its green skinned keeper out tracking truffles. Is the Boar gigantic or is the green skin diminutive ... six of one & half-a-dozen of the other.

The label reads "Greenskin with Boar - Truffle Trackers" ... an enormous Boar the same height as its keeper, wearing a collar & leash walks beside its keeper who directs it with a long stick. The keeper hears a hat with a feather in its brim. Inspired by my current Troika RPG project.

No. 29 #TroikaRPG inspired sketch is a Fugitive War-Criminal ... on the run in the Crimson Palisades after fleeing the carnage they've committed in one of the many balkanised mountain valley statelets.

The label reads "Fugitive War Criminal". A man (their face covered in bandages) wearing a black coat with shoulder capes and a tall shako cap with white & red feathered plume (with a skull crest), holds out a pike or spear at some unseen adversary. No 28 #TroikaRPG sketch is a Knavish Carrion ... a psychic vulture that trys to trick mountain travellers into endangering their lives ... & sometimes "accidently" carries off outdoor sleepers. Of course, it lets them go once it realises they were sleeping & not dead. From a great height.

A huge vulture type creature, with an enormous cranium, carries a slumped human clasped in its claws. The human dangles from their shoulders. They wear long red stocking. Inspired by my Troika RPG project.

No. 25 #TroikaRPG inspired scribbling ... a trio of Saline Homonculi (or "Salt-Peters") who have infested the salt mine owned by the Marquess de Tocktick.

Three diminutive homonculi with poorly defined (or carved) features mess around with a pick-axe as big as all three combined. Each wears a red bangle on which is carved their animating spell (in place of a soul). Inspiredby mu current Troika RPG project.

No. 24 #TroikaRPG inspired phone sketch inspired by my current project ... ZOLA, a cursed milkmaid, who is just still trying to do her job in spite of all the magical misery heaped upon her for rebuffing the advances of an asshole satyr.

Tge label reads "Zola, the cursed milkmaid". A milkmaid carries two churns suspended from a yoke on her shoulders, her eyes glow red from inside her headscarf (wimple?). Tiny red-eyed snakes peek out from under the wimple. I love the word "yoke" here ... when we were kids we would use the word "yoke" to refer to any unknown object or nouns... as in "hand me that yoke there" "who is that yoke [gently derogatory] you were talking to at the pub last night?". Anyway, this sketch is inspired by my Troika RPG WIP.

No. 14 #TroikaRPG inspired scribbles is the 7th Marquess de Tocktick. A nepo-baby by every definition of the word. While enriched by his salt mine, the wonderous Clockwork powered machinery therein, was invented by the 1st Marquess. The 7th Marquess knows only that he must wind it all, everyday.

The 7th Marquess de Tocktick, resident of Chateau Tocktick and owner operator of the salt mine beneath. He is depicted in a voluminous opulent flower-patterned robe. He wears a red cummerbund with a large pocket watch and chain attached. He clasps a sword in one hand and a huge winding key in the other. He has several pendants attached to his chest (some with clockfaces) and wears a large white turban on his bearded head.

No. 11 #TroikaRPG sketches (Troikatember continues). The God of spawning fish lives in an abyssal lake nestled into a corrie high in the Carmine Palisades. You (& your kingdom) will eat like kings if you can catch the Trout of Doubt ... but everyone will immediately become extremely sceptical.

An enormous Trout (the size of a bus) swims up to a frightened swimmer (who would easily fit within the trouts mouth). Light-rays beam down through the dark water from the surface above. The label reads "The Trout of Doubt"

No 8 #TroikaRPG sketch is "Chateau Tocktick", an imposing tower that provides access to a tunnel through the glacial cap that blocks a critical mountain pass in the Carmine Palisades. Do not tarry at the door or risk being smashed by the pendulum or murdered by the resident Gallowbrass warriors.

The label reads "Chateau Tocktick" and depicts a tall dark tower nestled into a recess in a glacier. Steps lead up to its doorway, though this is partially obscured by an enormous pendulum the swings back and forth suspended from near the top the tower. Two red lights glow at the top of the tower. Smoke emanates from several chimneys.

No 6 #TroikaRPG sketch is the Tatselwürm, also known as the Saffron-tiger where it roams among in the peaks of the Carmine Palisades. Its whiskers are considered a rare and sought after delicacy by sophisticated gourmands & degenerate hedonists across the hump backed sky.

There was a wimpy in my home town when I was a nipper ... the ketchup came in those red plastic tomato looking dispenser ... and tasted amazing. I have literally no other memory of the place.
