Today, we celebrate Frances Xavier Cabrini Day and the legacy of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini. In Colorado, Mother Cabrini established schools serving children of immigrant families, including Mount Carmel School and Queen of Heaven Orphanage School in Denver. Happy Cabrini Day!

Colorado leaves its mark, even on the big screen. The Stanley Hotel inspired Stephen King’s The Shining, while The Changeling grew from a haunting story near Cheesman Park. The park’s history as a former cemetery has also drawn comparisons to Poltergeist.
