As a teenager, I wanted to be like Ivanova, she was tough, brave, smart, funny and a damn fine officer. So I joined the military at 17

Saw it with my kids at the weekend. All of us loved it. My son and I are big Star Wars fans, my daughters have never seen any other Star Wars (I know, I need to try rectifying that one!). Lots of Mando action and lots of Grogu cuteness - a great combo and 2 hours well spent 🚀

Working in Dundee today. A wee gem of a city, with a huge amount of maritime history. A great example is HMS Unicorn which is the only one of its kind amongst the historic ships still in existence. Sadly I didn’t get a chance to go aboard, but will definitely return to do so. I’m also fascinated

Brexit was an unmitigated disaster for our country. I knew it would be from the start and shed tears the day the vote was confirmed. Recent events have shown that we are closer idealogically to our European brothers and sisters. Let’s hope they welcome us back, in spite of the harm we did to them.

My Alma Mater. It’s Babylon 5’s fault. I loved that show and Science Fiction so much as a teenager, I thought I may as well study the science behind the fiction at uni. Plus I thought it may come in handy if I wanted to discover light speed travel or to be an astronaut. Delusions of grandeur.

Met one of my favourite actors today and he didn’t disappoint. Perhaps it’s the military in me, but I couldn’t help but call him Sir 🫡He was very friendly and gracious and had some great banter with my 8 year old. I cheated slightly on my most recent rewatch of Babylon 5. I started at S2 Ep1 - I like Sinclair, but much prefer Sheridan. So what better way to deal with the grief of Sleeping in Light than to start a complete rewatch? This time properly from the beginning with ‘The Gathering’
