Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 20/08/2026Ever do that thing, where you accidentally format the wrong drive like a colossal idiot? 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 21/07/2026I know DPD are a terrible company, but sending you a "Sorry we missed you" message when you know for a fact the driver definitely didn't ring the doorbell or knock or send a smoke signal or attempt to contact you in anyway really sucks. 001
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 19/07/2026I do enjoy the fact that BBC Two shows the All-Ireland Hurling final. I do only know a minimum about hurling, but every time I've watched it it's been thrilling. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 17/07/2026Just seen The Odyssey - It's incredible. You should see it in the cinema, and especially in IMAX if you can. An epic that legitimately feels epic, and at the same time personal. Uniformly excellent performances and visuals, but the sound design & score are particularly extraordinary. 5 stars. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 17/07/2026Well, there you go - work's finished, summer starts here, and the Milky Bars are on me. Anway, here's Super Rad! by The Aquabats! (yes, those exclamation marks are supposed to be there). www.youtube.com/watch?v=-goL...youtube.com"Super Rad!" - The Aquabats! Music VideoYouTube video by The Aquabats! 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 17/07/2026Last (half) day of work for six ruddy weeks, so here's the playlist of the summer (well not the only one, but it's a summer playlist nonetheless) open.spotify.com/playlist/7kR...open.spotify.comSummer, eh?Playlist · colonelxb · 87 items 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 03/06/2026Oh man, time's relentless tango. I just had to go back and check - the first episode was (somehow) all the way back in November 2020. 100
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 01/06/2026Ah, Father Kane - cancelled before it's time, it was. Also, I've only seconds ago noticed I misplaced that apostrophe in the thumbnail. 100
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 05/04/2026A look inside the cherry pie I made. It was really nice. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 29/03/2026I saw Project Hail Mary yesterday: very good, 8/10. Ryan Gosling largely carries it, but Sandra Hüller is excellent and Rocky goes right to the upper reaches of the list of best non-humanoid aliens (James Ortiz does such a good job puppeteering and voicing him). Also, Ken Leung. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 25/03/2026. Ladies and gentlemen, and children of all ages, I present the Poppadom Preach Burger. (I also considered calling it the A Good Mango Is Hard To Find Burger). Layers (bottom to top): Brioche bun bottom, poppadom, mango chutney, burger, extra mature cheddar, bacon, brioche bun top. 101
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 21/03/2026Just watched Ready Or Not 2: bloody loved it, 8/10. Was it as good as the first? No, but it did have 100% more Kathryn Newton. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 01/03/2026Yeah, the Hound/Tormund/Brienne is solidly my top three. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 21/02/2026Just back from Cold Storage (2026) - it's fun, 7/10. Liam Neeson Liam Neesons his way through things effectively, Georgina Campbell's fun, and Joe Keery is Joe Keery. I recommend it. Would double or triple bill nicely with Night Of The Creeps (1986) and/or James Gunn's Slither (2006). 010
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 21/02/2026Yes, it was a fantastic show, absolutley loved it. Looks like we were a bit further back from the stage as well, but it's a bit hard to tell with the altitude. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 21/02/2026From the looks of it I was somewhere roughly in line with you but basically in the sky (we were row Q of the uppermost level) 110
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 20/02/2026Really really in the nosebleed section here. Small price to pay for a Deftones show. 110
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 31/01/2026This has been a men's Royal Rumble of many missed/passed up opportunities to make or solidify stars. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 31/01/2026Okay, so originally I wanted Sami to somehow win the Rumble. Then I wanted Oba Femi to go all the way. But now? Let it be Gunther. Chops for everyone's dinner, chuck 'em out, hit the Dvorak. 001
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 31/01/2026Oba Femi elminated. I cannot type BOO large enough. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 31/01/2026So is Sami going to drag himself into the Rumble and win it? No, but it would be nice, eh? 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 31/01/2026As soon as that was the final three, the result had a tedious inevitably about it. But then, I'm very much not a fan of Liv, so that colours it for me. Also, I can't be the only one to think the Sol Snatcher looked a thousand times better when she did it as a springboard off the ropes earlier. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 17/01/2026I really enjoy making mix CDs for people (including album art). The only problem with this is that as soon as I've finished one, I think of several songs that I would have put on there if I'd thought of them earlier, and bam, a new CD begins. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 24/12/2025Maple and pecan cake, with maple icing, Biscoff, and dark chocolate. 010
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 14/12/2025It was absolutley brilliant. Honestly my favourite JJ stream this year, which is saying something given how many great ones there's been. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 08/12/2025Motel Sundown played an excellent set at The Colne Delta Blues & Americana Club in Brightlingsea, which is all up on my YouTube. youtu.be/R0xM3V4p-jQyoutu.beMotel Sundown - Live, Brightlingsea (21/11/2025)YouTube video by ColonelXB 020
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 26/11/2025@craiggouldmusic.bsky.social & The Noble Thieves played a blinding set at The Colne Delta Blues & Americana Club in Brightlingsea this past Friday, which I recorded and present to you here: youtu.be/HctQeA9becc?...youtu.beCraig Gould & The Noble Thieves - Live, Brightlingsea (21/11/2025)YouTube video by ColonelXB 020
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 25/11/2025Not mine, but here's a picture of my sister's frankly ridiculous(ly cute) dog 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 09/11/2025Holy underwear, it was five (5) years ago today that I put out the first (full) THAT'S GOTTA BE KANE! starring @maffewgregg.bsky.social and @thetomcampbell.bsky.social - the passage of time is a terrifying, cruel tango. youtu.be/lm5J0PVzino?...youtu.beTHAT'S GOTTA BE KANE! in "Steamed Hams But With Undertaker And Kane, And They're Played By Maffew"YouTube video by ColonelXB 020
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 08/11/2025Just back from Predator: Badlands - I really liked it, it comes very close to Prey (which I loved), but it's a very different film, so it's hard to place. Elle Fanning is terrific, and I always love a robot/android that works despite what should be catastrophic damage. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 31/10/2025Went to Cineworld's classic secret screaming. The title card comes up: "Terrifier 3". Left. I don't rate the Terrifier series, but even if I did, you can't term a 1-year old film classic. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 30/10/2025From the Bob's Burgers Burger Book - the Hummus a Tune Burger. I used yellow pepper instead of red (it was the only one we had), but I don't think that impacted the overall burger too much. Good stuff. 020
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 25/10/2025Just got back from seeing The Descent at the pictures: 20 years later, and it's still awesome. Shauna Macdonald never needed to make another film again, because she was already in that (but glad she has been in more films since, obviously) 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 01/10/2025From the Bob's Burgers Burger Book: the Sympathy For The Devilled Egg burger. It was very nice. I had fries with it, but they weren't done when I took the pictures. 010
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 27/09/2025It's been a hell of a year for England's women's teams. Hot dang. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 31/08/2025What a guy. He always looks like he's well aware of how handsome he is, but doesn't make a big deal of it. 010
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 22/08/2025The Jonathan Glazer one was my favourite, along with Cunningham and Gondry, but damn they were all good. 110
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 05/08/2025Just back from The Naked Gun - it's good fun, about a 7.5/10. 85-90% of the jokes land, and there are a LOT of them. Special mention for the fact it manages to reference both Jack Frost (the terrible/brilliant horror movie) and Jack Frost (the terrible Michael Keaton movie). 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 27/07/2025Chloe Kelly: Specialist in Winning Things For England. Also superhypermega credit to Hannah Hampton, Alessia Russo, Leah Williamson, Jess Carter, Lucy Bronze, and everyone else. 000
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 16/07/2025Yeah, my tickets are so high up they came with an altitude warning 100
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 16/07/2025The O2 in London. The previous was the Reading festival, 2000 was a hell of a year there 100
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 16/07/2025Same here - horrifyingly, the previous time I saw them play was in 2000. 100
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 12/07/2025One of my ways of determining how good someone is as Superman is, as Clarke, would they sound natural using the word "swell"? David Corenswet's Clarke could definitely call someone swell and it sound right. 100
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 12/07/2025Mr Terrific and Guy Gardner were presented really well, Metamorpho was nicely done, Hawkgirl could have been utilised better. 100
Colonel XB @colonelxb.bsky.social · 12/07/2025Just got back from Superman: provisionally 8/10, really enjoyed it. An excellent Superman and Clarke Kent from David Corenswet. Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane was good, and for one moment Nicholas Hoult had me sympathetic towards Lex Luther. Krypto's obviously the star of the picture, though. 100
