Incredibly, there are plans for around 20 data centres in the Colne Valley, including at #Denham #Iver Colnbrook. What will this do to our rivers and water supply? There are also applications to dig up miles of roads and green spaces for electricity cables feeding these centres..

The Great Barn at #Harmondsworth is celebrating its 600th anniversary. The architectural jewel in the crown of the Colne Valley Regional Park, a glorious mediaeval building described by Sir John Betjeman as 'the Cathedral of #Middlesex'.

Heathrow Expansion will mean river corridors dating back to the last Ice Age will be shortened and severely impacted beneath the new runway and taxiways. The only remaining re-routed waterway will be (by necessity) disconnected from landfill-contaminated groundwater and netted.

THEY say bad things come in threes, and that certainly seems to be true in the case of data centres. This one is in #Poyle, on the edge of #Colnbrook, and a local resident summed the situation up very well for us: “We feel this will have a negative effect on the local wildlife...

We have now had weeks of exceptionally hot weather. The tinder-dry conditions pose a serious threat to wildlife and people and we must all remain on our guard against fire. Please remember portable barbecues, camp fires, stoves and anything that uses a naked flame are not allowed – for good reason!
