Colin Smith @colinsmith.bsky.social · 15mIt’s the first Long Walk story and it’s a brilliant story of how the Judges make sure that crazy ideas like Not Being A Permanent Baztard don’t pollute their perfectly brutal system. And here’s the comic’s cover by Carlos Ezquerra. 👇 I got for a couple of quid today. Bargain! 040

From 1980’s 2000AD # 147’s Judge Dredd tale by John Wagner & Mike McMahon, which shows what happens to older Judges with empathetic ideas. 290
Colin Smith @colinsmith.bsky.social · 2hDear gawd that really is an awful cover for the new Clash compilation album. I saw it yesterday on the ever-excellent @super-deluxe.bsky.social & found it impossible to process how poor it is. Is it AI? Is it the product of a business that doesn’t know, or even care, about doing better than bad AI? 4182

Colin Smith @colinsmith.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I know they were trying to make sure the new DD wasn’t the DD of reader’s fathers, but I do regret the absence of the Eagle comic aesthetic, and not just for Hampson’s brilliant designs. There was some lovely work afterwards too. It seems a shame to have junked nearly all of that. 120

Colin Smith @colinsmith.bsky.social · 06/10/2026That’s what I thought. I’m afraid the Photography Annual 1953, from which it came, offered no more info. However I read that at least 3 of the tests in that year were airbursts, and 1 in 1952 was actually televised live. So, quite possibly. 110

Colin Smith @colinsmith.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I’d say 1980 was one of very best years for pop music if I hadn’t been 17/18 back then.
