Deceitful mailings like these are designed to look like it came from your clerk. Pay close attention -- they are NOT sent by your clerk and this can cause big problems. I've blurred the name and address, but both were wrong despite this person voting for 15 years at this address.
This envelope, containing incorrect voter information, is a return envelop designed to go to the Madison City Clerk, but that office did not send these. This envelop actually comes from "Election Mail Service" in Austin TX but it misleads by also being stamped "Government Document Enclosed. Do Not Discard."

Mail-in ballots face new challenges to arrive back to the clerk's office this year due to USPS changes. Mail yours back soon! A ballot cannot count if it is still sitting in a postal facility when the polls close. More details here: clerk.danecounty.gov/PressDetail/...

During the Renaissance, people in Venice would vote by dropping little balls into an urn. The Italian word for “little ball” is ‘ballotta.’ Now any kind of secret voting, by ball, piece of paper, or voting machine, is called a ‘ballot.’

Melissa Hortman saw something in people and gave them an opportunity - that's just how she led. Today, I'm thinking about her famous “I'm not sorry” speech, where she encouraged so many of us to take up space and be heard. I miss you, friend.

60 years ago today: Four days after enactment of the Voting Rights Act, federal voter registrars arrive in nine southern counties where Black voters have faced significant difficulties getting on the rolls. Picture below: Black voters registering in Canton, Mississippi, 8/10/1965.
