Speaking as a veteran of two of the three franchises mentioned: I love “Hamburger Shonen” for us

A sorta odd request. I’m looking for an artistic cartographer or an illustrator to commission to make a cute, useful street map of an actually existing village. Searching the internet produces a bunch of fantasy map specialists and AI slop, which isn’t quite it. Know anyone? (This is paid, ofc.)

Am I just dumb for thinking Industry is better than most of these shows? It doesn’t get awards, so maybe I’m on an island, but come on: you can’t tell me The OA is a better show with a straight face.

I’m really grateful to have something like this to watch with my daughter right now (@lizclimo.bsky.social hangs out but really only pays attention to MJF).

Simply cannot believe how many times the pro wrestling show has made me cry this year. Usually specifically something @shutupexcalibur.bsky.social said, but I’m also just a sucker for “fuck ICE” chants.

I’ve drawn my own hand hundreds of times, but it has never previously occurred to me to draw my own feet

(Trying to be helpful, hopefully not ruining a joke) workaholics guy is Adam Devine

I think they’re both AI. Those guys had a bunch of different AI-looking posters throughout the night.

Ooh man I hate how easy you make this look

This gives me a powerful new incentive to actually buckle down and read the book (I’m really enjoying it, just going super slow due to work)

I was honestly also thinking this during Redemption.

I miss him greatly on Industry

Just wanted to shout out Tidal for this: I’m really glad to be able to uncheck this box.

I think it might be on the peacock telemundo feed? That’s what I’m watching, anyway.

Your deadpan “cinco…” after Nigel ran out of Spanish number steam KILLED me. Great job tonight!

So my problem with the DC tie-ins is that I think the Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland characters are way cooler than Lobo and Bane. I get why it’s happening, but the cosplay feels like it diminishes them. #forbiddendoor #aew

However, I don’t feel super strongly about whatever passes for my method of using the site, and will probably take a closer look at my follows list. I’m kinda just happy we’re all here, I suppose.

Like, when I listen to a radio station, I don’t feel like I’m dehumanizing the producers by not being able to catch up on everything that happened before I turned it on.

Colin Heck @colinheck.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

I guess I think of this site as a stream that I dip in and out of rather than a book that I’m reading cover to cover. It may be that I’d rather follow more people and miss some of each person’s thoughts rather than miss the entirety of someone’s posts by not following them.

Hopefully this is reading as honest bewilderment and not a challenge

Colin Heck @colinheck.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

I follow a mix of news, artists and friends and am somehow over 1k follows, which is confusing. I pretty much exclusively use the “following” feed (unless I’m on the AEW feed) and still feel like I run out of stuff to read occasionally?

110

Colin Heck @colinheck.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

Lol @ LoK AEW AMAZING. I’m going to show this to Bryan to try to get him into AEW

People used to complain about seeing “directed by Colin Heck” at the end of emotional Korra episodes but

Colin Heck @colinheck.bsky.social · 05/06/2026

This is not the first time I’ve teared up while watching professional wrestling and that’s pretty amazing

I’ve been laughing about the genius of “hourglass ankles” for five minutes. Beauty in simplicity

Colin Heck @colinheck.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

I can’t recall if the colors were too bright for broadcast, as one commenter is asking, but I do remember the studio balking because we needed so many more paint pods (cannot remember what the right term for those is) than other shows they produced.

As a Mission Hill alumnus (it was my first animation job!) it’s awesome to see younger artists recognizing how cool these backgrounds were. Lauren MacMullan pushed hard for this comic look, and I believe Joseph Holt was the art director that executed the vision, though the whole art dept was great

A few silly drawings I made while rewatching #AewDoN #aew #wrestlesky

A drawing of my favorite wrestler, Thekla

A drawing of Jon Moxley looking like some kind of ogre

A drawing of the wrestler Ricochet looking kinda muppet-y

Mind talking about how you optimize speedster? I’ve always passed on it because the damage didn’t seem worth it.

I had to square this off for posting reasons, but I liked the original super narrow framing better, which I’ll post here just to laugh at the preview crop

A much narrower framing of the same drawing I posted above

@lizclimo.bsky.social and I enjoyed Chris Fleming’s HBO special and here’s a drawing I made while we watched

My kid said “dad, those two Amazon trucks are kissing!” and I said “they’re giving each other bezos” and oh, reader, how we laughed

Oh man, this show was actually my first directing credit but being confronted with this image was still a jump scare. (I fled to Legend of Korra immediately afterward)
