A sorta odd request. I’m looking for an artistic cartographer or an illustrator to commission to make a cute, useful street map of an actually existing village. Searching the internet produces a bunch of fantasy map specialists and AI slop, which isn’t quite it. Know anyone? (This is paid, ofc.)

Am I just dumb for thinking Industry is better than most of these shows? It doesn’t get awards, so maybe I’m on an island, but come on: you can’t tell me The OA is a better show with a straight face.

Simply cannot believe how many times the pro wrestling show has made me cry this year. Usually specifically something @shutupexcalibur.bsky.social said, but I’m also just a sucker for “fuck ICE” chants.

This gives me a powerful new incentive to actually buckle down and read the book (I’m really enjoying it, just going super slow due to work)

Just wanted to shout out Tidal for this: I’m really glad to be able to uncheck this box.

So my problem with the DC tie-ins is that I think the Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland characters are way cooler than Lobo and Bane. I get why it’s happening, but the cosplay feels like it diminishes them. #forbiddendoor #aew

People used to complain about seeing “directed by Colin Heck” at the end of emotional Korra episodes but

This is not the first time I’ve teared up while watching professional wrestling and that’s pretty amazing

As a Mission Hill alumnus (it was my first animation job!) it’s awesome to see younger artists recognizing how cool these backgrounds were. Lauren MacMullan pushed hard for this comic look, and I believe Joseph Holt was the art director that executed the vision, though the whole art dept was great

I get the impression that this wasn’t super audible on broadcast, but it felt super loud from my seat in the arena. Runner up for favorite chant was “sweep forever!” during MJF’s extended glass-clearing action. #aewrevolution

This made me flash back to my StreetWars anxiety! I played in the LA 2006 edition and had a lot of fun and remain surprised that nobody got themselves actually shot (one player had a SWAT team called on them, but it got successfully deescalated) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StreetW...

#AEW friends: I’m drawing a lot of brawling for a project and I’m gonna sprinkle a bunch of wrestling moves throughout - give me suggestions! It’s a street fight among a lot of people so it’s gotta be relatively organic. Probably no 450 splashes, but I’ve already got a Death Valley driver going.

I'm guessing I'm in the minority here, but it's hard for me to take anybody seriously if they use awful AI "illustrations" like this. Seven dials for four burners? Burner grills by Escher? Just use a picture of a real stove!

Sorry for the re-post, but after looking on my phone, I wasn't happy with the dead colors on this and so I'm re-posting with the vibrance a team like The Outrunners deserves. #AEW

a drawing of Truth Magnum, one half of the AEW tag team The Outrunners, looking at the camera and sticking his tongue out while he flexes. His pants are a pack of Newports. The colors are much more vibrant than the last version I posted.

I drew @truthmagnum.bsky.social from my favorite Newport-flavored tag team in #AEW, The Outrunners! I wanted to go cartoonier with it, but I was working from photo ref and it just kept getting more realistic as I went.

My daughter and I have been getting into #AEW lately. Here’s a sketch of Hangman Adam Page - fake back musculature brought to you by my lack of actual art instruction

Pencil sketch of Hangman Adam Page. He’s facing away from camera so you can see a lot of vague back muscles, and he looks menacingly at the camera over his left shoulder.

Another super old drawing that I still like: this Korra that I drew as a contest prize when I was trying to promote the show on Tumblr for some reason
