I think the one thing to keep in mind regarding the current talk about SEGA is that historically they're a company that doesn't need one specific person to fuck everything up. they fuck up holistically, as a company-wide ethos. everything good out of them is more or less in spite of that.

just finished the demo and i need to scream about how stunning this is!!!!!! please please play this demo if you enjoy visual novels at all, the presentation is on another level. it draws you in headfirst into its world and doesn't let go. the visuals pair so beautifully with its indulgent prose.

ive also finished both the hero and vengeance routes. and both i enjoyed for what they were but i was kinda feeling iffy and unsatisfied in manners that i cant really describe for both routes. especially vengeance route, that one kinda fell flat for me despite how much i adored kanae in common route

ive been chipping away at reading full metal daemon muramasa and i was unsure if i'd really enjoy it as much as others going in (but still really enjoyed it, ESPECIALLY its comedy). end of ch1 i was intrigued but wasn't really Sold. ch2-4 i started getting into it more. ch5 made me fall in love.

finally, 9-1 by mememe is so good. i know it was in the zinrai prelaunch trial thing, but the MV for the song makes the song so much more fun. it feels like mememe is starting to really carve his own style. there are so many other songs i enjoyed but i gotta stop here else i name nearly every song

九十九ノ恋結ビ by irucaice and ayaponzu is also fantastic!!!! i love love oriental-pop type songs like this and this one is loads of fun to play. it feels like a spiritual sequel to 儚キ戀ノ幻想譚, one of my favorites from IIDX 30. really really amazing!!! ill be playing this one a ton

unfortunately Scanlation Culture means that once someone releases a chapter in like ANY state it becomes the Gold Standard and people going back and redoing it is so exceptionally rare. its such a shame. but theres only so much i can do myself unfortunately so rn ill just complain into the void

the buzz over SW4 MTL reminds me of how nuts it drives me when an actually competent scanlator group drops a manga (which is perfectly fine albeit disappointing) but the only person who steps in to take over is a SINGLE guy who crudely edits lines from deepl+chatGPT into the manga and calls it a day

every time hansaku otome comes on in my playlist my love and adoration for sakura taisen just explodes. i still vividly remember hitting the end credits of SW1 and unexpectedly crying my eyes out because the game truly became that special to me over the length of my playthrough. best ending theme

i havent gotten the true ending of oyashiro mode yet (but im 99% sure i know who the true final opponent is) but its such a crime that you dont include the two characters who play mahjong IN THE VNS into the mahjong spinoff. akasaka being good at mahjong is one of his very few personality traits!!!

higurashi jan is really really good and has so much content and passion put into it. but also it being a bishojo mahjong game means that only the girls show up + keiichi. which makes sense from an arcade mahjong view, but from a higurashi lens CMONNNN YOU GOTTA HAVE OOISHI. YOU GOTTA HAVE AKASAKA
