A more modern Snow giving us a nice acoustic performance (they/them) For Coldin 💙

Sometimes I like to think how my characters might be in a modern setting. Here's Snow as an indie musician. Still reserved, but expresses themselves in their music. Picking up gigs at bars in between busking on the streets. Thanks to @zibe.bsky.social for drawing Snow again, and nailing the vibe.

Do what you want to your own body. But if you're gonna smoke in a smoke free apartment, do it way away from the building. Not just outside your door. 😾

Coldin @coldin.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Grumble. Dealing with a neighbor who has been smoking cigs at least three times a day just outside my apartment. Which if I leave any windows open, all that smoke blows right in. I've made a couple complaints already. You would think maybe that would get them to at least be more covert. But nope.

I still mask up when going to the grocery store or any decently populated location. I haven’t been super sick in years, when it used to be a regular occurrence. Masking works.

I was always scared of that scene from The Last Crusade. It's kinda silly now in retrospect.

Finally have my Steam Frame, and finally have the prescription inserts! Been having a lot fun just messing with stuff and playing around with settings. It’s kinda funny that just messing with tech and menus is interesting all on its own. That said, did grab this selfie in VRchat.

Starts out with Wick going after the High Table, and then he just like...gives up on that. Maybe it's just the world today, but I would have really wanted to see the High Table actually get consequences. Even more disappointing to learn a John Wick 5 won't even deal with the High Table.

Coldin @coldin.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Finally saw John Wick 4. Spoilers ahead. Fight scenes were cool, as always. Maybe a bit drawn out to pad the run time in a couple places? I would appreciated a few more downtime scenes. Story was weird. It kind feels like they had one story for the beginning, and a different story for the end.

Still, that's better than no scaling at all. Hopefully will improve with more features over time. :)

UI scaling! It’s honestly been one of my pet peeves every time I try to get back into DDO and have to play a low resolution just to properly see the UI.

Battery life is definitely a sticking point. While I haven't used it till the battery is dead, I'm certainly seeing the <hour battery life while in standalone. I'd like to give it a proper test, but may reserve that till after I get the prescription lenses for added comfort. So far, I'm liking it.

Coldin @coldin.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Headset is fairly comfortable and easy to adjust. Hard to say if it really needs the ergonimics kit, but the control straps will be needed for immersive VR. Picture seems pretty good and sharp, but reserving final judgement until I get prescription lenses. Audio is just fine. Mic quality is good.

Initial Steam Frame impressions! Note that this after less than a couple hours of actual playtime. Took a bit of setup and tweaking to get the streaming working. But once that setup was done, latency seems fine enough. Beatsaber works well in both standalone and pcvr modes.

Story was great and enjoyed the twists and turns. Also liked how would sometimes come across old areas from another angle or perspective. Overall I think it was well put together. Solid recommend, especially if you liked the other Plague Tale games.

Coldin @coldin.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Played on the hardest difficulty, which could feel a bit unforgiving. Might have been nice to keep the combat at the same difficulty, but take three hits instead of two(+1). Parrying was fun, but dodging could feel kinda inconsistent.

Coldin @coldin.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Finally beat Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Great game and I liked the different gameplay from the very stealth focused earlier games. Picking up the bits of jewelry along the way also was a cool way to build progression. Missed several along the way despite feeling like I explored everywhere.

Seeing more jobs lost in Xbox gaming is disheartening. This is why that merger should have never been allowed to happen. I hope those people can land on their feet and move onto better/greater things.

Whenever my regular plans are canceled (such as DnD), I find it really hard to get myself to actually do any other activity. I had plenty of games or shows I could have enjoyed, but I spent the whole night as if waiting for that DnD game to arrive.

My plasma TV seems to have finally kicked the bucket. I always enjoyed how good playing games on it looked. No idea what's considered the best gaming TV these days to replace it.
