People on bluesky don't understand that I was 11 years old in 2009 so I wasn't actually on race science forums

cold 🗡️🥑 @coldhealing.bsky.social · 20/12/2024

whenever i open up bluesky i get the notifications that a bunch of people with .bsky.social at the end of their usernames all followed me and i'm like did one of my tweets pop off on liberal twitter??? and then i remember

autofiction is an important and valid genre but one trick that autofiction writers can play on themselves is thinking that an event is meaningful just because it really happened. in your own life lots of events happen without meaning anything. writing full fiction forces you to decide meaning

bluesky feels like 2019 twitter in both the good ways and bad ways. content algo is worse so posts return to shared culture references instead of algoslop. lots more actual celebrities hanging with a smaller userbase. way less sincere racism. it doesn't feel nearly as urgent though

i saw the new jennifer lawrence movie about fucking a teenager for a car with my irls tonight and it's crazy how much parasite-style wealth commentary has seeped into mainstream culture. the movie is full of commentary on montauk vacation home wealth gaps just as a vehicle for a romcom plot

one thing i didn't start admiring until recently is that instagram has won dominance as facebook 2. gen-z will be on instagram for the rest of their lives the same way gen-x will be on facebook for the rest of their lives

twitter doesn't show a 0 next to a post without faves/retweets/replies like bluesky does. makes this feel like a harsh gauntlet, you are nothing until that first fave
